Job Description

Job Summary:
Reviews system needs, investigates solutions and presents recommendations to management. Maintains development, test and production environments and coordinates systems needs with internal resources of the IT department. Serves in a leading technical role in system implementations, upgrades and changes, working at a high technical and analytical level in support of customers. Serves as the primary contact for all support issues. Leads and directs System Admins. Responsible for supporting the installation and ongoing maintenance, operations and support of in-house systems which support departments with specific knowledge of software and associated systems. Participates in activities associated with work flow analysis, data collection, database customization, user training, reporting and go-live support for software systems. Responsible for on-going support, including database maintenance and optimization, security, disaster recovery and installation of new software or updates to existing software. Provides software modifications and updates as needed in support of existing processes and produces new software for automation of processes. Troubleshoots critical business processes in assigned area. Demonstrates knowledge and skills to appropriately communicate with customers/users to develop an understanding of their business objectives, application system needs and process flows. Must be familiar with command line operations in unix and windows environments, programming/scripting languages, and database operations and architecture. Abilities to repair/recover from software and hardware failures. Contribute to and maintain standards, develop/maintain procedures (knowledge base, e.g.) research solutions and recommend approaches to leverage resources and automate tasks. Daily system monitoring for integrity and availability, log review, verification of scheduled jobs. Verify backups occur and are usable. Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:
Education/Skills Minimum of Associate Degree or equivalent education or extensive work experience in the direct applications/systems.
Work Experience:
Five or more years' relavent experience. Required to have a working knowledge of customer departments operations including software/systems and be able to use an analytical approach. Organizational ability and strong communication skills are required.
Mental Demands:
Exceptional oral and written skills are required. The individual must have the ability to perform as a team member, cooperate with others, manage conflict, prioritize multiple tasks, exhibit leadership and Demonstrate self-motivation. Ability to understand and analyze oral and written statements concerning a variety of business and technical problem. Ability to take orders and follow directions precisely and demonstrate initiative. Ability to perform duties under various levels of stress & time restraints.
