Job Description

Franklin County Memorial Hospital is seeking an Entry-Level IT Technician to provide frontline technical support for hospital staff and assist with day-to-day IT operations. This position supports computers, printers, phones, mobile devices, user accounts, software, and other technology used in patient care and hospital operations. This role is well suited for someone beginning their IT career who is dependable, professional, customer-service oriented, and willing to learn in a healthcare environment. Key Responsibilities Provide first-level support for desktops, laptops, printers, phones, mobile devices, and related hospital technology. Respond to help desk tickets, phone calls, and in-person support requests in a timely and professional manner. Troubleshoot basic hardware, software, network connectivity, printing, and user account issues. Assist with equipment setup, deployment, relocation, replacement, inventory tracking, and asset tagging. Install and update approved software under the direction of IT leadership. Assist with onboarding and offboarding tasks, including preparing equipment and user access. Document issues, troubleshooting steps, resolutions, and equipment changes in the ticketing or inventory system. Support common systems such as Microsoft Windows, Microsoft 365, email, printers, and other business applications. Follow IT policies, security procedures, and confidentiality requirements, including HIPAA-related expectations. Escalate complex issues to senior IT staff, vendors, or leadership as appropriate. Participate in IT projects and other duties as assigned. Required Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent required. Basic understanding of computers, Windows operating systems, printers, networking concepts, and common office software. Strong customer service, communication, and problem-solving skills. Preferred Qualifications Previous help desk, technical support, or customer service experience. CompTIA A+, Network+, Microsoft, or other entry-level IT certification.
