- III Network Engineer The incumbent in this position serves as part of a team that supports themunication infrastructure for the Billings Clinic health system.
Responsibilities for this team include providing strategy, design, support, security, maintenance and optimization of the data and voice infrastructure in order to facilitate and enhance the delivery of health care services in Billings Clinic and its regional partners. This role is responsible for providing support, implementation, and maintenance of existing infrastructure as well as assisting other team members in providing guidance, planning and execution of improvements and future strategy. In addition to the technical knowledge/skills required to support the infrastructure, other responsibilities include creation and maintenance of documentation,plying with change control, and effective task management. Coordination,munication and interaction with other teams/departments, vendors and facilities in the health system is expected. This is a highly dynamic environment requiring members of this team to respond to the often-changing needs of the organization while maintaining a high level of uptime, service quality and redundancy. Essential Job Functions

- KEY RESPONSIBILITIESServes as the primary technology resource for the assessment and mapping of current and future state with gap identification/analysis, design, implementation, on-going development and maintenance of network infrastructure.
Coordinates closely with Billings Clinic Leadership, staff members, Information Technology staff, key stakeholders including affiliates, managed and non-managed sites, and software vendors for the planning, analysis, design, implementation, evaluation and support of network infrastructure
- STRATEGYActs as a liaison and expert resource for network infrastructure with the end-usermunity, clinicians and/or software/hardware vendor to identify problems and concerns regarding the overall performance and/or effectiveness of the technologies and workflows that impact users.
Researches, analyzes and provides rmendations for corrective action to resolve problems with the internal functionality of the system and/or integration of information between systems. Collaborates with clients and technical resources and/or software/hardware vendor with rmendations for system enhancements, detailed information regarding technical or functionality problems and assists with implementation of rmended fixes
- PATIENT SAFETY and QUALITYMonitors the environment, technology and infrastructure to support optimal patient care and prevention of adverse events

/ REGULATORYEnsures network infrastructure and corresponding policies and procedures, related to Health IT, follow appropriate Practice Acts, other applicable regulations and standards

- 4 Year / Bachelors Degree in related field or equivalent years of experienceExperience
- 0-10 years' experience with network infrastructure/ architecture, remote access systems, internet connectivity, telmunications and support services
- Knowledge with LAN switching and VLANs
- Knowledge/Experience supporting LAN/WAN
- Knowledge/Experience supporting voicemunication/ telephony (VoIP, Analog and digital
- Experience with the maintenance, configuration, incident resolution, and engineering connectivity solutions
- Internet based IPSEC and SSL VPN tunnel experience
- A thorough understanding of the OSI model, Ethernet, HTTP, and TCP/IP
- Knowledge/Experience implementing and administratingmon TCP/IP based services, including DNS, HTTP, FTP, SSH, SMTP, etc
- Demonstrates analytical skills necessary to perform responsibilities requiring analysis, judgment, and knowledge of information services Certifications and Licenses
- Industry certifications in networking/telmunications preferred Able to provide home internet access and have personal cell phone Or an equivalentbination of education and experience relating to the above tasks, knowledge, skills and abilities will be considered.
