Job Description - Tier 2 Deskside Support TechnicianPosition Summary The Tier 2 Deskside Support Technician provides onsite IT support for end users, including computer deployments, operating system upgrades, hardware installations, asset management, and troubleshooting. This role requires strong technical knowledge of desktop support, Windows environments, networking fundamentals, and IT asset lifecycle management. The technician will work directly with users to resolve technical issues while maintaining accurate documentation and inventory records. Key Responsibilities Deploy and configure new desktop and laptop computers. Replace outdated hardware and migrate users to new systems. Perform Windows 10 to Windows 11 upgrades. Image, configure, and troubleshoot Windows devices. Remove, dispose of, and track retired IT assets according to company procedures. Install, move, and support printers and peripheral devices. Lift and transport computers, monitors, printers, and related equipment (up to 50 lbs.). Update asset records and service tickets within ServiceNow. Follow knowledge base articles and documented procedures to resolve technical issues. Provide onsite Tier 2 desktop support and troubleshooting. Support Microsoft Office applications and standard enterprise software. Maintain documentation, inventory records, and support logs. Identify process or operational issues and resolve them using established procedures. Escalate issues that fall outside documented support processes. Communicate effectively with end users, team members, and stakeholders. Required Qualifications Knowledge of computer hardware, operating systems, and desktop support. Understanding of networking concepts and troubleshooting fundamentals. Experience with Windows imaging and deployment processes. Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite and common business applications. Knowledge of computer security policies and security best practices. Ability to document technical work and communicate clearly via email and ticketing systems. Valid driver's license and ability to travel locally as needed. Ability to lift and move equipment weighing up to 50 pounds. Preferred Qualifications Experience supporting Windows 10 and Windows 11 environments. Experience with ServiceNow or similar ITSM ticketing systems.
Scripting and automation experience using:
PowerShell Python Experience with hardware deployments, refresh projects, and asset management. Prior experience in a help desk, desktop support, or field support role. Education Associate's or Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field; or Equivalent combination of education and relevant experience. High School Diploma or GED required. #

Pay:
$23.00 - $24.00 per hour
