Job Description

Job Summary The IT Help Desk Support role is responsible for providing technical assistance and support to end-users within the organization. This includes troubleshooting hardware and software issues, resolving network connectivity problems, and providing guidance on the use of company IT resources. The ideal candidate should be a problem-solver with strong communication skills and a customer-focused mindset.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide Technical Support:
    Assist employees with resolving IT-related issues, including hardware, software, and network problems.
  • Troubleshoot Issues:
    Diagnose and resolve technical problems related to operating systems, applications, and network connectivity.
  • User Account Management:
    Create, manage, and troubleshoot user accounts, including password resets, permissions, and access control.
  • Install and Configure Software:
    Install, update, and configure software applications on user devices and ensure they are functioning properly.
  • Maintain IT Equipment:
    Set up and maintain IT equipment such as computers, printers, and mobile devices. Assist with hardware upgrades and replacements.
  • Document Incidents and Solutions:
    Record and track issues in the help desk ticketing system, ensuring timely resolution and proper documentation.
  • Educate Users:
    Provide training and guidance to end-users on the use of IT resources and best practices for cybersecurity.
  • Collaborate with
IT Team:
Work closely with other IT staff to ensure the smooth operation of the company's IT infrastructure.
  • Monitor Systems:
    Assist in monitoring system performance, security, and backups, and escalate issues as necessary.
Stay Updated:
Keep abreast of the latest IT trends, technologies, and best practices to provide effective support.
Qualifications:
  • Education:
    Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field is preferred.
  • Experience:
    1-2 years of experience in IT support or a similar role.
  • Technical Skills:
    Proficiency in Windows and macOS environments, experience with Microsoft Office 365, and familiarity with networking concepts (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP).
  • Communication:
    Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical users.
  • Problem-Solving:
    Excellent analytical and troubleshooting skills.
  • Customer Service:
    A strong customer-focused attitude with the ability to manage multiple requests and prioritize tasks effectively.
Certifications:
CompTIA A+, Network+, or similar certifications are a plus. Experience with Fortinet also a plus.
Work Environment:
  • Physical Requirements:
    Ability to lift and carry IT equipment, such as computers and monitors.
Work Hours:
Standard business hours, with occasional after-hours support as required.
