Full Job Description Description:

Polyhose Inc. is seeking a part-time IT Support Technician to help maintain our computers, software, and network systems. This position combines hands-on troubleshooting with day-to-day technical support for employees. We welcome current students and recent graduates with relevant coursework, practical technical skills, and a willingness to learn. Install, configure, and troubleshoot desktops, laptops, and peripherals. Set up and maintain printers, scanners, and multifunction devices. Install and update operating systems and software, including managing licenses. Diagnose hardware issues and coordinate repairs or replacements with vendors. Troubleshoot wired and wireless connectivity issues and support VPN access. Support network switches, including ports, VLANs, and Power over Ethernet (PoE). Assist with firewall configuration, rules, and security policies. Monitor network devices and respond to alerts and connectivity outages. Support backups, endpoint protection, and software updates as needed.

Requirements:

Currently pursuing or have completed a degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field. Hands-on experience troubleshooting computers, software, and peripherals through coursework, projects, internships, or employment. Basic understanding of TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLANs, and IP addressing. Familiarity with wired and wireless networks, VPNs, firewalls, and switches. Ability to explain technical issues clearly and provide patient, professional support. Dependability, attention to detail, and willingness to take ownership of assigned tasks.

Preferred:

Familiarity with cloud-managed networking, backups, antivirus/endpoint protection, and patch management.
