Title:
IT Help Desk Technician Reporting Relationship:
IT Manager General Summary of Responsibilities:
The IT Help Desk Technician will be responsible, under the direction and guidance of the IT Manager, for providing hardware and software support, either via telephone or on-site for the hospital's information systems, televideo systems and telephone systems
Essential Job Functions :
  • Maintains accurate, up-to-date, inventory of Hospital's Information technology assets including hardware, software, and cable plant.
  • Prepare and installs new personal computers and other information technology devices
  • Installs new software on computers/terminal servers at the direction of the Network Administrator
  • Troubleshoots and repairs personal computers and peripherals across all hospital departments including printers. Performs diagnostic procedures to resolve issues and notifies staff and managers as appropriate as to the resolution of issues.
  • Answers Help Desk phone calls, emails, and trouble tickets in the Sys-Aid. Prioritizes incoming request, tracks problems, follow up with users, and forward tasks to appropriate people when it is beyond the scope of the help desk.
  • Operates information technology trouble desk, providing employees with telephone and remote connect assistance in solving hardware and software issues.
  • Document all procedures/changes/how-to's
  • Installs computer network cabling and terminates connections at patch panels and user outlets.
  • Participates in IT on-call rotation as needed.
  • Assist in maintaining and operation of Hospital's tele-video, telephone equipment.
  • Assist Network Administrator in tasks assigned on Projects and Research and Development.
  • Communicate effectively within our department on all project statuses.

Job Qualifications:
Education:
Required:
High School Diploma or equivalent
Preferred:
Completed a program in Information Technology at the
High School Level Experience:
Required:
Demonstrated experience in information technology
Preferred:
One or more years actively involved in PC maintenance, experience in Microsoft Server software and Microsoft Office products highly desirable
