Electric Sheep Computers is looking for a new tech This is primarily an in-shop position, but the ideal candidate will be able to help with our on-site work as well. Primary duties include the following, on both Mac and Windows platforms.

• Software:

  Installation, configuration and troubleshooting of operating systems and applications.

• Hardware:

  diagnostics and repairs on laptops and desktops. Hardware upgrades. Drivers. New computer builds.

• Customer Data:

  backup and restoration, transfer of user data between computers or OS installations. Email and Cloud account setup. Password recovery.
• Virus and malware removal.
• Understanding IP networking is a plus. Relevant certification, education and professional experience are helpful, but not strictly required. More importantly, the right person will be able to:
• Expand and update their knowledge base and skill set in an ever-changing field.
• Apply critical thinking and persistence to solve complex problems.
• Multitask. Shop techs typically work on 3-5 computers simultaneously.
• Take comprehensive notes, and maintain an organized workspace.
• Communicate clearly and respectfully with customers and coworkers.
• Maintain a professional attitude and appearance.

Any applicant interested in field work must be comfortable with basic power tools (drills and drivers, mostly), able to climb a ladder and lift 50+ lbs. This is an entry-level position, but there are plenty of opportunities to rise in the organization and grow into new areas of interest.
