+ Benefits Location Requirement Candidates MUST currently reside in the New York City metropolitan area and be able to commute to the designated office location. Candidates in other states will not be considered. No vendors. We work directly with the candidates. Overview We are looking for a Senior Level, hands-on IT generalist to serve as the right hand to the Head of IT . This is the s econd most senior seat in the department and the person will be expected to carry real weight from day one. The role covers the full breadth of IT operations rather than a narrow specialty, and the person will regularly work directly with the executive team, so comfort operating with executive presence matters as much as the technical skill set. We run lean and moves fast. This person needs to be able to troubleshoot and make decisions independently, understand the security posture well enough to make sound calls on the fly, and not need to escalate every issue. Third-party vendors are in place to go deep on network, security, and AV when needed, so this is not a specialist role in those areas, but the person still needs enough working knowledge to configure and support the environment day to day. Key Responsibilities Serve as the most senior IT team member apart from the Head of IT, owning complex troubleshooting and escalations end to end. Own day-to-day administration of the Microsoft stack - Microsoft 365, Azure, and especially Windows Intune, which the team relies on heavily for deployment and device management. Administer Entra ID (Azure AD), including leading the technical work to retire Duo and standardize on MFA within Entra ID. Maintain working knowledge of AV, networking, and security fundamentals - enough to configure the environment and handle routine requests directly, escalating to specialist vendor partners only for deep expertise. Provide direct, white-glove support to the executive team - comfortable going to an executive's desk, diagnosing the issue, and resolving it on the spot rather than routing it through a standard ticket queue. Exercise independent judgment to troubleshoot and solve problems quickly, applying company security policy as the first filter on every decision - without escalating every minor issue to the Head of IT. Act as the hands-on mentor for two full-time IT staff, developing their skills (particularly on Intune) beyond their current entry-level exposure. Required Qualifications 10+ years experience - Senior-level, hands-on enterprise IT experience with demonstrated ownership Deep, hands-on fluency with the

Microsoft Stack:

Microsoft 365, Azure, and especially Windows Intune for endpoint deployment and management. Strong working knowledge of Entra ID (Azure AD), including MFA administration; experience migrating or standardizing an MFA solution is a strong plus. Proven ability to troubleshoot and resolve issues independently and quickly, exercising judgment consistent with established security policy. Executive-facing presence and communication skills - polished, calm under pressure, and comfortable being the face of IT to senior leadership and the C-suite. Working (not necessarily expert) knowledge of networking, AV, and security fundamentals, sufficient to configure the environment and handle routine work independently. Experience in a similar industry or comparably regulated, executive-driven environment (e.g., private equity or a similar high-touch setting) is strongly preferred, so the candidate already understands the regulatory context and the expectation that IT drops everything for executive requests. Demonstrated experience mentoring or developing junior IT staff.
