Job Description

Job Summary :
We are seeking an experienced Application Analyst to support, analyze, and troubleshoot applications built on Microsoft Power Platform and SharePoint Online. This role is primarily focused on diagnosing application issues, resolving complex failures, and ensuring reliability, security, and compliance of existing Microsoft 365 solutions across the enterprise. The ideal candidate excels at application triage, root cause analysis, and platform governance rather than greenfield development. At its most complex, the work resembles debugging workflows, permissions, integrations, and configuration, driven logic across Microsoft services.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities :
Serve as a primary escalation point for Microsoft's catalogue of applications that affect business-critical workflows. Diagnose failures in Power Apps, Power Automate, and SharePoint-based solutions by analyzing runtime behavior, configuration, dependencies, and permissions. Perform root-cause analysis of application errors, flow failures, connector issues, and unexpected outcomes. Analyze logs, run histories, audit data, and error payloads to identify patterns and systemic issues. Restore application functionality through configuration corrections, environment fixes, permission adjustments, or targeted remediation, not net-new development. Support production Power Platform environments with a focus on uptime, reliability, and controlled change. Assess the impact of platform updates, connector changes, or security modifications on existing applications. Identify performance, scalability, or design risks in deployed solutions and recommend corrective actions. Assist with incident response related to Microsoft 365 applications, including outage diagnostics and post-incident reviews. Troubleshoot SharePoint Online site behavior, permissions issues, content access failures, and integration problems. Support SharePoint integrations with Teams, Power Platform, and OneDrive from an application-consumption standpoint. Ensure SharePoint solutions operate within defined governance and lifecycle standards. Partner with Security, Compliance, and Infrastructure teams to ensure applications comply with least privilege, data protection, and governance standards. Analyze how identity, licensing, DLP, and retention policies impact application behavior and usability. Support governance controls in Power Platform environments while minimizing disruption to business users. Translate technical findings into clear impact statements for non-technical stakeholders. Document application behaviors, known issues, dependency mappings, and operational runbooks. Provide guidance to solution owners and citizen developers on stabilizing and supporting their applications, without acting as a primary developer. Maintains confidentiality. Performs other duties, as assigned. Must possess a valid Driver's License from New York, or a contiguous state (i.e., Connecticut, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, and Vermont) OR must have the ability to take ample public transportation to attend meetings in person in the community and in the office as needed. Bachelor's degree required in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field. 1-2 years' experience supporting and troubleshooting Power Apps, Power Automate, and SharePoint Online in an enterprise environment. 3-5 years of progressive IT experience. Strong background in application support, analysis, or platform operations rather than full-time application development. Experience diagnosing issues related to permissions, connectors, authentication, data sources, and environment configuration. Ability to analyze complex, configuration-driven logic without relying on traditional compiled codebases. Strong communication skills with the ability to explain technical issues and resolutions clearly. Strong understanding of JSON structures, REST concepts, HTTP status codes, and API responses Working knowledge of Python for diagnostics, data inspection, and troubleshooting support scripts (not software engineering)
