Engineer IT (BOCES)

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES

We are looking for someone to collaborate across the RIC and lead our user experience and end-user device initiatives. This person will work closely with our Identity and Access Management, cloud services, and automation team members as well as the Security and Privacy team. As more and more systems and data are being shifted to the cloud, the way we design, maintain, and manage end-user devices is changing. This role will help us maintain and improve related systems with a focus on improving the customer experience. The primary responsibilities for this position include Collaborates with peers across the solutions team and the RIC in all areas regarding device management, software deployment, and printer/copier management Collaborates with the Technical Assistance Team Tier 2 (TAC2) and Field Services on solutions in related areas Collaborates with

on application deployment, maintenance, and updates Collaborates with the Security and Privacy team on security topics related to device management and software deployments Collaborate with peers on the Solutions and Projects team to lower reliance on legacy systems and protocols Collaborates with peers on the Solutions and Projects team and TAC2 teams to maintain and improve standard Google Workspaces configurations Designs and leads end-user device, software deployment, printer/copier management solutions. Creates and maintains design documentation and works with TAC2 and Field Services on reference and how-to documents.

REQUIRED MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

A.) Graduation from a regionally accredited or New York State registered college or university with a Bachelor's degree or higher in computer science, computer technology, data processing, management information systems, information resource management, infrastructure engineering, or closely related field, and two (2) years' experience in the information technology field; OR B.) Graduation from a regionally accredited or New York State registered college or university with an Associate's degree in computer science, computer technology, data processing, management information systems, information resource management, infrastructure engineering or closely related field, and four (4) years' experience in the information technology field; OR C.) Six years of experience in the information technology field; OR D.) An equivalent combination of training and experience as outlined by the limits of A), B) and C) above. Broome County Civil Service examination required

SUBSTITUTIONS

: 1) One year of experience stated above may be substituted for a current Broome-Tioga BOCES employee with successful completion of thirty (30) hours of recent (within the last twelve months) approved subject matter related to SCRIC Academy coursework. 2) An additional year of experience stated above may be substituted for ongoing development opportunities to assist with applying the SCRIC Academy coursework.

Special Note :

Because of the radical evolution of technology in this field, qualifying experience must have been gained within the last five (5) years.
