ABOUT ACCURATE METAL MACHINING
Accurate Metal Machining, Inc. (AMMI) is a precision machining company headquartered in Painesville, Ohio, serving aerospace, defense, and industrial markets. If you take pride in keeping the systems behind the scenes running smoothly and securely, you'll fit in here.
POSITION SUMMARY
The IT Specialist keeps AMMI's internal computer network, hardware, and electronic data running securely and reliably company-wide. This role supports our CMMC cybersecurity compliance efforts, manages data backups and access security, and serves as the hands-on, on-site point person for IT troubleshooting, from PCs and printers to the DNC systems that move CNC programs to and from our machines.
This is an on-site role:
you'll need to be physically at the facility to resolve issues, and close communication with our managed IT partner is essential.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Maintain a flexible, secure, and user-friendly internal computer network up to date with industry standards Serve as a member of the CMMC compliance team, supporting cybersecurity controls required for aerospace and defense contracts Help build out new cybersecurity systems for CMMC certification, including writing policies and procedures and setting up secure local enclaves for CNC programs and SolidWorks files Manage electronic data backups and coordinate off-site storage of backed-up data Manage and safeguard customer-owned electronic media; archive obsolete electronic media Support backup programming needs, including SQL database work and Delphi (Pascal) development for the company's custom ERP system Manage Active Directory, network shares/permissions, and printer shares Install PCs, software, and printers as needed Serve as the point person for computer hardware and software issues; troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair PCs and printers, including network, connectivity, and toner/drum issues Manage DNC systems, transferring CNC programs to and from machines Train and assist associates on the proper use of electronic media, hardware, and software, including new cybersecurity systems Be physically on-site to troubleshoot issues, communicating effectively with our managed IT partner, as needed Apply cost-benefit analysis to technology expenditures
WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
Preferred:
Knowledge of current computer hardware and software industry standards Experience with SQL databases and Delphi/Pascal or similar RAD development tools Working knowledge of Active Directory, network shares/permissions, and printer administration Experience troubleshooting PCs, printers, and networks Ability to work on-site daily Experience with DNC systems or transferring CNC programs in a machining environment
