Job Requirements Wright-Patterson Air Force Base, OH Top Secret/SCI Polygraph Unspecified Career Level not specified Salary not specified Join Premium to unlock estimated salaries Job Description Description The Computer User Support Specialist (Journeyman) provides day-to-day technical support to government users, helping maintain reliable operation of computer systems, printers, VoIP phones, and related IT assets. This role is responsible for troubleshooting hardware and software issues, supporting end users with timely and professional service, maintaining accurate inventory records, and following established procedures to ensure consistent support across the program.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide first-level end-user technical support and resolve issues in an efficient, professional manner. Install, configure, and troubleshoot desktop hardware, software, printers, and VoIP telephones. Support user connectivity and basic network access needs. Maintain accurate assignment and tracking of IT assets and inventory. Deliver user guidance and basic training on systems, devices, and software as needed. Document support activity and use ticketing systems to track and manage work. Maintain strong customer service standards and positive working relationships with government users. Follow established procedures, program requirements, and inventory control practices. Requirements Bachelors in Information Technology (IT) or similar technical field. A+, Network+, Security+ or equivalent DoD 8140 certification. 3+ years of experience in computer support, help desk support, or IT customer service. Ability to work independently, manage multiple tasks, and prioritize effectively. Active Secret security clearance, depending on position requirements.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with government IT asset management systems. Experience with receiving, tracking, and verifying assets throughout their lifecycle. Experience supporting government customers or government environments.
