POSITION SUMMARY:
The Computer Support Technician must manage, monitor, and repair our computer systems, and technology related hardware. They will also ensure systems are configured correctly and are running efficiently. Duties for the Computer Support Technician will include installing software patches, diagnosing and repairing technical problems, resolving hardware failures, configuring software and drivers, performing regular system upgrades, promoting data security, managing workstations, and inventory management. The expertise and knowledge will assist Mid-Del Public Schools in enhancing end-user service and ensuring that our computer systems are optimized for day-to-day operations.
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS
High School Diploma or GED is mandatory Successful completion of technical training for computer technician or two years related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience required College experience and/or A+ Certification preferred
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Effectively communicate with various end-users to gather information to help troubleshoot issues Troubleshoot and solve computer hardware and software issues Install special hardware and software programs Maintenance and troubleshooting of other peripheral hardware that is supported by district Installation and setup of new computers Install a variety of cable and wiring systems as needed Installation and setup of printers, digital duplicators, and fax machines Maintaining inventory of technical equipment Maintain records, prepare reports, and compose correspondence relative to the work as needed. Additional duties that may be assigned by immediate supervisor or above.
LANGUAGE AND GRAMMAR SKILLS
Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence and memos. Ability to compose and write grammatically correct correspondence and memos.
REASONING ABILITY
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, schedule form, or blueprint form.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to fume or airborne particles. The employee frequently works in high, precarious places and in outside weather conditions. The noise level in the work environment will vary from somewhat loud to extremely loud. To ensure continuity of services, a different work location may be necessary in the event of a health crisis or disruptive situation that requires the closing of school and/or office buildings. Expectations and guidelines for this change will be distributed by the employee's supervisor, based on his/her role and responsibilities.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
Employee may occasionally be required to supervise a varying number of employees in the overall direction, coordination, and completion of tasks as assigned.
