About the Company A globally recognised leader in advanced nanoscale metrology and precision measurement technology is expanding its engineering team in Hillsboro, Oregon, supporting one of the world's most advanced semiconductor manufacturing facilities. The company develops highly sophisticated metrology and microscopy equipment used across semiconductor manufacturing, materials science, advanced R D, and precision engineering environments. Their technologies are widely used for nanoscale surface measurement, defect analysis, thin film characterisation, optical inspection, and ultra-high precision measurement applications. About the Role This is a specialist, site-based engineering role supporting advanced metrology and analytical instrumentation inside a cutting-edge semiconductor fab. Unlike traditional travel-heavy Field Service positions, this opportunity offers a stable on-site environment where you will become a key technical expert supporting complex precision measurement systems critical to semiconductor production. The role is particularly suited to engineers with hands-on experience working on metrology tools, microscopy systems, optical instrumentation, laser-based equipment, or semiconductor inspection platforms. Key Responsibilities Provide technical support and troubleshooting for advanced metrology, microscopy, optical, and laser-based systems Monitor tool health, system stability, measurement accuracy, and uptime within a semiconductor manufacturing environment Diagnose complex faults across hardware, optics, software, motion control, vacuum systems, and precision measurement components Support installation, qualification, calibration, and production ramp of new metrology equipment Work closely with process engineers, applications teams, and global technical support groups Drive continuous improvement activities focused on tool reliability, measurement repeatability, and process performance Candidate Background We are specifically interested in engineers with experience supporting, servicing, maintaining, or troubleshooting equipment such as: Semiconductor metrology and inspection systems Atomic Force Microscopy (AFM) Scanning Electron Microscopes (SEM) Optical metrology and surface analysis equipment Interferometry and confocal microscopy systems Thin film measurement and characterisation tools Laser-based measurement or inspection systems Precision motion control and nanopositioning equipment Surface profilometry and nanoscale measurement systems Analytical or laboratory instrumentation used in semiconductor or advanced manufacturing environments Candidates with experience working on semiconductor metrology equipment, surface measurement and characterisation systems, AFM/SEM platforms, optical metrology tools, interferometry systems, profilometry equipment, or other high-precision analytical and nanoscale measurement instruments are highly encouraged to apply Preferred Qualifications Relevant educational backgrounds include: Electrical Engineering Mechanical Engineering Electronics Mechatronics Physics Materials Science Physical Chemistry Compensation & Benefits $130,000
