Our team is dedicated to providing our clients with cutting edge solutions and VIP support. We operate in a fast paced, high performance environment, and are looking for a candidate who can rise to the challenges we face as IT professionals. The Project Engineer is responsible for delivering a variety of technical solutions across diverse client environments. This role involves designing, implementing, and supporting systems and processes that meet client requirements, while working independently and managing personal deadlines. The Project Engineer contributes throughout the project lifecycle, from planning and quoting to deployment and training, and communicates effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders to ensure successful outcomes. Our ideal candidate can use their technical expertise to implement and architect IT systems which add value for our clients, and results in a white glove experience.
Key Responsibilities:
Architect and implement IT solutions in client environments using a broad spectrum of technical knowledge. Design and develop processes and systems for deployment in client environments or as standalone products. Drive project execution by hitting key milestones and meeting client deadlines, in coordination with the Project Manager. Communicate technical details to clients and provide end-user training on systems and products. Provide escalated support by collaborating with T3 help-desk technicians on complex technical issues requiring elevated access or specialized expertise. Assist in scoping and planning technical work from the quote phase through completion, offering valuable technical insights. Consult with clients and stakeholders to provide expertise on mission-critical systems and products. Provide mentorship and training to project and help-desk technicians. Collaborate with other project engineers and technicians to deliver complex products and services in a timely manner. Coordinate small interdepartmental teams to complete complex work in a timely manner. Other responsibilities as they may arise.
Qualifications:
A college education is not required; an associate's degree or higher is preferred. Minimum of 5 years within a technical IT capacity, with experience administrating, supporting, and designing complex systems. Relevant certifications (e.g., CompTIA, Microsoft, Cisco, Barracuda) are a bonus but not mandatory.
Engineers should either:
Possess broad technical knowledge and function effectively as a well-rounded IT generalist. OR Have specialized expertise in one or more areas such as networking, virtualization, Windows administration, VOIP, or similar domains. Must be able to work independently without direct supervision. Be capable of managing tasks and meeting deadlines without micromanagement. Will possess strong research skills and be able to pursue knowledge when faced with unfamiliar challenges and know when to ask for help. Ability to communicate effectively with stakeholders and clients, communicating technical information in clear, understandable language. Physical ability to carry computers, servers, and perform installations. Ability to perform occasional after hours maintenance or installation work.
Other Considerations:
Must pass a national background check. Experience operating in IT MSP environments is a bonus. Prior experience with VMWare, Hyper-V, and Microsoft Windows Server administration is preferred.
