Job Description

Summary Holy Child School at Rosemont is seeking a Technology Support Specialist to begin immediately, who will join a team that seeks to enrich the learning environment and support the business operations of the school through researching and implementing best practices. The ideal candidate will be an organized, task-oriented individual who is a self-starter and able to work in a busy environment. This is a multi-faceted position, serving as the helpdesk, lab manager, and a source of user support. The technology support specialist also works with the team to maintain, strategize and plan for the evolution of the school's technology infrastructure. The technology team also supports AV use in the school including classroom AV and AV for larger group spaces. The Technology Support Specialist is a full-time, 12-month position and will report to the Director of Technology. The ideal candidate would have 2-3 years of experience and may be an IT professional with academic experience or an educator with IT experience. S/he will join a collaborative team consisting of the Director of Technology and a Technology Support and Integration Specialist. Our network is largely cloud-based and provides wired and wireless connectivity to accommodate 300+ instructional and administrative users. Instructional areas are equipped with Chromebooks/laptops/tablets, SmartBoards, and other audio visual equipment to facilitate 21 century learning. Students in grades 1-8 participate in a 1:1 Chromebook program. Faculty members are provided with Chromebooks and staff members use Windows machines. We have two maker-spaces (one for Lower School students and another for Middle School) where students work on programming, 3D design and prototyping with 3D printers and laser cutters, electronics and audio/video production. We are a Google school and make extensive use of that suite of products.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Provide professional, accurate and timely responses to support requests. Deploy and maintain computers and Chromebooks. Be comfortable repairing basic electronics, printers and machines such as laser cutters and 3-D printers. Help to educate end users on systems and to create and maintain procedures and related documentation. Provide support for the MAD Lab (Middle School maker-space). Support the overall use of technology in both the academic and administrative settings. Provide systems administration support in Google Admin management. Provide basic database support. Communicate and interact effectively with students, teachers, administrators and technology support staff. Provide support and maintenance for our one-to-one Chromebook program. Work with Technology team members to troubleshoot challenging issues. Perform other duties as required. Be a team player.
Qualifications:
possess good interpersonal, communication, problem solving and collaborative skills. Demonstrate effective verbal and written communication skills. Demonstrate outstanding time management and organizational skills, the ability to accurately prioritize tasks and to work in a fast-paced environment with limited supervision. Possess knowledge of commonly used technology concepts, practices, and procedures.
Education and Experience:
At least an Associates degree in a Technology-related field or equivalent certifications/experience in technical systems support. At least two years experience supporting technology (Windows and Chromebooks) at a help-desk or similar situation. Experience in a school setting is preferred. Experience with any of the following is a plus: Blackbaud Google Workplace for Education Google Classroom 3D Printing and Laser Cutting technologies Chromebook/PC Repair.
