Job Description
Job Description The Department of Academic Affairs of Thiel College, Greenville, PA, seeks a dedicated educator to serve as our Digital Learning Coordinator. This is a full-time staff position, committed to the values of a liberal arts education and Thiel College's Mission to prepare students for careers and lives of meaning and purpose. The Digital Learning Coordinator will work closely with faculty to develop curricula and assignments that help students develop research strategies, evaluate sources, and apply ethical information practices in the digital age. This position will also support faculty for instructional design and oversee the College's online course evaluation process, OCRA. The position offers an opportunity to work collaboratively with a variety of stakeholders to deepen engagement with the College and advance student learning.
Preferred and Required Qualifications Required Qualifications:
Master's degree in Library and Information Science, Curriculum and Instruction, Instructional Design , or a related field At least three years of experience in a library, center of teaching and learning, or instructional design. Experience teaching information literacy, research methods, or related coursework Demonstrable record of effective communication and collaborationPreferred Qualifications:
Familiarity with assessment practices in higher education Experience developing curriculum aligned with institutional learning outcomesEssential Job Functions :
Perform Library Instruction in classroom settings, especially for three courses comprising the First-Year experience: First-Year Seminar, College Writing, and Presentational Literacy Develop Presentation and Information Literacy syllabi designed to support student success and align with Thiel's all-college goals and mission Teach 1 section of Information Literacy per semester, based on enrollment needs Provide substantive feedback on student work and maintain regular office hours to support student development Support faculty development around instructional design and online teaching. Oversee the College's online course evaluation and approval process, OCRA. Work with the Associate Dean for Accreditation and Institutional Effectiveness to develop and integrate the assessment plan for information literacy into the overall institutional assessment plan Collaborate with department chairs and library faculty as appropriateWorking Conditions:
Heavy lifting up to 50lbs., pushing/pulling up to 50lbs., climbing, repeated overhead motion. Office hours may vary. Occasional evenings and weekends in a general office and campus environment.Safety/Training Requirements:
Continuing education for topics relevant to the field. Periodic training on topics of nondiscrimination, prevention of harassment, prevention of sexual misconduct, cybersecurity, and other topics as required.
