Job Description
Job Description The IT Operations Specialist is responsible for the smooth functioning of information technology by serving as the primary liaison between the technical consultants and non-technical personnel. Information technology consists of computer hardware and software, telephony, and EDI. The IT Specialist actively supports BCHC in its efforts to maintain designation as a Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) and as a Patient Centered Medical Home (PCMH). Participates actively in BCHC's mission to provide exceptional patient-centered primary and preventive healthcare for all residents of Berks County, regardless of patient status. Principal Duties and Responsibilities Assists with the development and implementation of an effective Technology Plan for Berks Community Health Center. Assists with day-to-day computer support and tracks all internal help requests and ensures they are filled. Assists with monitoring computer performance to determine any problems. Assist with inventory control system for all IT hardware and software. Implement security measures. Provides support in a face-to-face capacity, over the phone or via remote desktop software, helping staff or clients set up systems or resolve issues. Identifies user requirements by establishing personal rapport with users and other persons in a position to understand service requirements. Identifies and procures the hardware and software needed to satisfy user requirements. Collects data by identifying sources of information, designing survey and collection methods. Organizes information by studying, analyzing, interpreting, and classifying data. Resolves retrieval problems by altering design to meet requirements. Prepares reference for users by writing operating instructions. Maintains user access and support. Maintains Network and computer equipment, advises on installs, repair, and planning. Installs hardware and peripheral components such as monitors, keyboards, printers and disk drives on users' premises. Loads appropriate software packages such as operating systems, networking components and office applications. Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; participating in professional societies. Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed. Provides telephone, in-person, and online support to end-users. Establishes and revises database by conferring with analysts and programmers to code and retrieve data. Maintains inventory database by entering correct data. Assists in research and procurement of computer accessories and supplies. Evaluates system potential by testing compatibility of new programs with existing programs. Confirms program objectives and specifications by testing new programs; comparing programs with established standards; making modifications. Maintains client confidence and protects operations by keeping information confidential. Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed. Education and Requirements Bachelor's degree in Information Technology. Medical experience a plus .
