Job Summary:
Wavemark Consulting is seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Entry-Level IT Support Technician to join our growing team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to start or continue their career in the IT field and gain hands-on experience in a variety of IT functions. The ideal candidate will be a proactive problem-solver with a passion for technology and a strong commitment to customer service. Typical workday is supporting customers remotely with some onsite support when necessary.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide first-level contact and technical support for end-users experiencing hardware, software, and network issues via phone, email, or in-person. Troubleshoot and resolve a variety of technical problems, including password resets, software installations, printer issues, and connectivity problems. Assist with Active Directory user account management, including creating, modifying, and disabling user accounts, and managing group memberships. Perform minor networking tasks, such as troubleshooting connectivity issues, and assisting with network equipment setup and configuration under supervision. Install, configure, and maintain desktops, laptops, peripherals, and mobile devices. Assist with the setup and deployment of new hardware and software. Document, track, and monitor IT issues using a ticketing system to ensure timely resolution. Create and maintain IT documentation for common issues and solutions. Assist with general IT administrative tasks and projects as assigned. Collaborate with senior IT staff to escalate and resolve complex issues. Stay up-to-date with current technologies and IT best practices.
Qualifications and Skills:
A strong interest in information technology and a desire to learn. Basic understanding of computer hardware, operating systems (Windows, macOS), and software applications (e.g., Microsoft Office Suite). Familiarity with networking concepts (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP) is a plus. Exposure to Active Directory or other directory services is an advantage. Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills. Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical users. Customer-focused attitude with a passion for providing excellent support. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks effectively. Relevant IT certifications (e.g., CompTIA A+, Network+, Microsoft certifications) are a plus but not required. Strong ability to communicate via phone and email with clients and an ability to stay calm and focused in those interactions. High school diploma or equivalent. Why Join Wavemark Consulting?
