Work Arrangement:
This is a Hybrid role (in the Upstate NY region), requiring a minimum of up to three days per week onsite to manage internal and customer strategic IT procurement tasks, and centralized procurement activities. Reliable transportation is required. Why Join Us?

The Role:
Your Mission:
As our next IT Procurement Specialist, you will serve as a key contributor to our mission of operational excellence. In this hybrid role located in Ithaca, NY, you will lead and perform a variety of assignments which include, but are not limited to, inventory management, procurement of IT equipment, software and services. You will lead and conduct spend analysis, develop sourcing strategies, assess market trends, and perform complex cost and price analysis.
What You'll Do Day-to-Day:
Own the
IT Queue:
Actively manage and resolve procurement and asset requests within our managed IT ticketing queues, ensuring prompt service delivery
Drive Supplier Excellence:
Monitor supplier performance and lead the swift resolution of any delivery, hardware quality, billing, or service issues
Analyze Supply & Demand:
Utilize data metrics to anticipate tech needs, create new purchase orders, and expedite requests to align with our IT deployment schedules
Maintain Order Visibility:
Review all hardware and software orders daily, providing proactive updates regarding equipment shortages and precise
ETAs Uncover Cost Savings:
Track trends in standard IT hardware to identify costsaving opportunities and annual renewal negotiations for IT service contracts
Master IT Inventory & Compliance:
Oversee comprehensive inventory management through scheduled audits to maintain precise stocking levels while ensuring all activities strictly comply with company policies and regulations
Adapt & Scale:
Tackle new operational challenges and take on other dynamic procurement duties as assigned
Who You Are & What You'll Bring Proven Track Record:
Experience:
Two to four years of experience in purchasing, procurement, planning, supply chain, IT, or related roles
HighVolume Execution:
Ability to manage and prioritize high volume of transactional procurement activities
Precision & Data Integrity:
Unwavering attention to detail with focus on data accuracy, and thorough workflow documentation
Foundational IT Knowledge:
A strong understanding of standard IT hardware, software licensing, and computer components, allowing you to build out equipment solutions as needed
IT Procurement Expertise:
Demonstrated experience managing procurement lifecycles, processing purchase orders, and analyzing supply/demand data against deployment schedules
Vendor & Contract Management:
Proven track record of building strategic vendor relationships, resolving complex supplier issues (billing, quality, delivery), and assisting with annual contract renewals
Inventory & Queue Management:
Experience handling ticketing queues and executing structured inventory audits to maintain optimal stocking levels
Compliance & Detail Focus:
Experience navigating company policies and regulatory frameworks to ensure fully compliant and auditready purchasing workflows
Education/Certifications:
High school diploma is required; Associate degree (or higher) is preferred
Communication:
Strong ability to effectively communicate, build and maintain collaborative relationships with strategic IT vendor partners
Travel Requirements:
up to 5% (as required)
Physical Readiness:
