Job Description

The IT Specialist is a hybrid role on American Freight's small, fast-moving IT team, splitting time between hands-on technical support for corporate and store associates and higher-value work that helps drive the business forward
  • including eCommerce platform support, business process optimization, and applying AI tools to improve how the company operates. This is a great opportunity for a motivated, curious professional to build broad, hands-on IT experience across every discipline

Job Duties/Responsibilities:
Provide first
  • and second-level technical support to corporate and store associates, resolving hardware, software, network, and point-of-sale issues (approximately 50% of role) Support and help optimize americanfreight.
com, our Shopify-based eCommerce platform, partnering with IT leadership on testing, troubleshooting, and enhancements Identify and help implement business process improvements across IT and store operations, using automation tools such as Microsoft Power Automate Explore and apply AI tools and techniques (e.g., the Claude API) to streamline reporting, support workflows, and business decision-making Document, deploy, and support a range of technologies across corporate and store environments Partner across the IT team

Required Skills:
1-2+ years of hands-on experience in IT support, help desk, or a related technical role
  • no specific degree required; relevant experience and demonstrated skills matter most Strong troubleshooting skills across PC/Mac, mobile devices, peripherals, and business applications Genuine curiosity about AI tools and a desire to apply them to real business problems Comfort working on a small, fast-paced team where priorities and responsibilities shift often Strong verbal and written communication skills for supporting end users at all levels Ability to analyze processes and identify opportunities for improvement or automation Self-starter mentality•comfortable learning new systems and taking initiative with minimal oversight Familiarity with retail or eCommerce environments a plus
Preferred Skills:
Experience with Shopify or another eCommerce platform Exposure to Microsoft Power Automate, Power BI, or similar automation/reporting tools Experience using AI tools (e.g., ChatGPT, Claude) for business or technical tasks Active Dire...
