Job Description
The Information Technology Specialist supports the City Computing Infrastructure. This position reports to the IT Manager. Will perform general Information Technology, Public Communications, and Emergency Management functions in the Support Services department, participate in related processes, projects, and events, and assist during Hurricanes or other emergency management functions.
Schedule :
This position generally works a regular weekday daytime shift and may require scheduled and non-scheduled work outside regular working hours. This may include evenings, weekends, holidays, or other critical times in response to emergencies or at the supervisor's discretion. Provides on-call support on a rotational basis. Typical working hours are Monday through Friday, 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
Manage all aspects of live stream meetings for City Council and Planning & Zoning. Installs, maintains, and monitors the operation of the local workstations and their attached devices. Assist users with Remote Work Capabilities and with Mobile Devices. Reads and comprehends technical manuals and brochures for evaluation of equipment to meet City objectives. Provides 24/7 coverage to Police/Fire Operations for mobile computers, electronic tablets, telecommunications, and other technology-related issues. Analyzes future needs and prepares for acquisition and functionality. Instruct users in the use of equipment. May perform equipment repairs and hardware installation. Provides troubleshooting and support assistance to end-users. Provides technical support for 3rd Party Applications and their users. Follows policies and procedures; completes administrative tasks correctly and on time; supports City goals, objectives, and values. Tactfully approaching others; reacts well under pressure; treats others with respect and consideration, regardless of status or position. May travel onsite to various city facilities to perform duties. Must be available to work in the event of a disaster to assist with recovery response efforts.Citywide IT Trainer:
Responsible for designing, developing, and delivering employee training programs and workshops focusing on Remote Workers. Performs customer service functions as appropriate; greets visitors and receives telephone inquiries, IT Support Ticket requests, and complaints; ascertains the nature of calls/visits and resolves issues or directs to appropriate individual/department; answers requests for information from employees and outside agencies; exercises discretion in processing and communicating department matters of a sensitive and/or confidential nature. Required to attend training and/or continuing education as assigned by the Support Services Director. Assists the Support Services Director, and IT Staff with all other related duties as assigned. (These essential job functions are not to be construed as a complete statement of all duties performed. Employees will be required to perform other job-related marginal duties as required.)MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ANDABILITIES
Proficient in Microsoft 365 Suite. Knowledgeable in Windows Active Directory and Desktop OS, PC operations, software, and printers, networking, and security procedures. Knowledgeable with Android OS and iOS cell phones. Ability to train and support users on IT systems. Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills. Effective communication and documentation abilities. Capable of managing multiple tasks and priorities. Strong decision-making and analytical skills. Ability to work independently and adapt to changes. Maintains professionalism, accountability, and follow-through.EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
A degree in Computer Science or a Related Technical Field is preferred, with 1 year of experience. An associate's degree from an accredited college or university with related field experience may be considered with applicable work experience working in the Information Technology field.LICENSES, CERTIFICATIONS, OR REGISTRATIONS
1. Valid Florida Driver's License 2. A+ certification preferred 3. This position's Incumbents must pass the National Incident Management System (NIMS) ICS-100 and IS-700 within 30 days of employment. 4. Must maintain a CJIS CertificationESSENTIAL PHYSICAL SKILLS
- Must be able to climb a ladder and perform IT-related skills.
- While performing the duties of this position, the employee is regularly required to use hands to touch, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; talk and hear.
- Employees in this position perform duties that require very fine dexterity and extreme muscle control, involving various body postures.
- Specific vision abilities required by this position include color vision, close vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
- The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds; frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS
