Full Job Description IT Support Specialist Location:
Long Beach, CA (Onsite 4 days/week, 7:00 AM start) Company Overview A dynamic organization is seeking an experienced IT Support Specialist & Service Desk professional to support mission-critical trading systems and business operations. Position Summary The IT Support Specialist & Service Desk is responsible for the execution, support, and continuous improvement of IT applications and processes. Key Responsibilities Service Desk & Application Support Serve as a primary point of contact between cross-functional business teams and technology stakeholders. Manage and prioritize support requests using an on-premise ticketing and tracking system. Communicate service interruptions and escalate issues appropriately. Provide clear status updates and maintain transparency on support priorities. Develop and maintain knowledge base documentation and user instructions. Identify system inconsistencies and prepare audit reports. Vendor & System Management Coordinate software patches, maintenance releases, deployments, and upgrades. Ensure vendor compliance with security policies and contractual obligations. Collaborate with infrastructure teams on hosting and performance optimization. Infrastructure & Endpoint Support Maintain high-performance workstation environments, including periodic endpoint rebuilds and user migrations. Manage mobile device inventory and patching through Intune. Maintain hardware asset inventory and coordinate secure device recycling. Provide hands-on support for servers, workstations, laptops, printers, and mobile devices. Governance & Process Improvement Maintain best practices in IT governance, including: Incident & Change Management QA/Test Methodologies Audit & Compliance Release Management Manage multiple support-related projects and initiatives. Analyze, triage, and develop resolution plans for IT projects as needed. Support collaboration with offshore resources when required. Working Conditions On-call helpdesk support shared within a small team (3-4 staff members). Occasional off-hours support required. Collaboration with international support teams may be required. Qualifications Education & Experience Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, MIS, Finance, or equivalent experience. 5+ years of experience in software development or application support within trading and risk management environments. Experience supporting enterprise applications in both on-premise and cloud-hosted environments.
