Job Description
IT Support Specialist - Remote Job Summary We are seeking a dependable, customer-focused, and technically skilled IT Support Specialist to join our remote team. The IT Support Specialist will provide technical assistance to employees, troubleshoot hardware and software issues, maintain IT systems, and help ensure that users have reliable access to the technology they need to perform their work effectively. The ideal candidate has strong problem-solving skills, excellent communication abilities, and a passion for technology and customer service. Key Responsibilities Provide first-level technical support to employees through phone, email, chat, and remote-support tools. Troubleshoot hardware, software, network, and connectivity issues. Install, configure, update, and maintain computers, applications, and peripheral devices. Assist employees with Microsoft 365, Google Workspace, VPNs, printers, video conferencing, and other business applications. Create, update, and maintain IT support documentation and troubleshooting guides. Monitor and respond to support tickets while maintaining appropriate response and resolution times. Assist with user account setup, password resets, access requests, and employee onboarding. Escalate complex technical issues to senior IT personnel or specialized support teams when necessary. Maintain accurate records of equipment, software, licenses, and IT-related activities. Help implement cybersecurity best practices, including password security, software updates, and access controls. Support remote employees with technology setup and troubleshooting. Participate in IT projects, system upgrades, and process-improvement initiatives. Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field preferred. 1-3 years of experience in IT support, help desk, technical support, or a related role preferred. Strong knowledge of Windows operating systems, Microsoft 365, and common business applications. Familiarity with basic networking concepts, VPNs, Wi-Fi, printers, and computer hardware. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities. Ability to explain technical information clearly to non-technical users. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. Ability to work independently and manage multiple support requests in a remote environment.
