IT Support Technician (MSP) Hyper IT is an established Managed Service Provider (MSP) based in Willow Springs, Illinois. We provide IT support and consulting services to small and medium-sized businesses, municipalities, and public safety organizations throughout the Chicagoland area. We're looking for an IT Support Technician who enjoys solving problems, learning new technologies, and helping people. You don't need to know everything on day one. Some of our best technicians have started with a solid technical foundation, a great attitude, and the determination to figure things out. If you're naturally curious, enjoy troubleshooting, and take pride in providing excellent customer service, we'd love to meet you. This position is ideal for someone looking to grow beyond a traditional help desk role. You'll gain hands-on experience with a wide variety of technologies while working directly with experienced engineers and real-world business environments. What You'll Do Every day is different. Depending on the day, you may be: Responding to client service requests using our PSA platform Monitoring and maintaining client systems through our RMM tools Troubleshooting Windows desktops, laptops, and business applications Supporting Microsoft 365, Outlook, Teams, OneDrive, and related services Creating and managing user accounts and permissions Supporting Windows Server and Active Directory environments Troubleshooting wired and wireless networking issues Configuring and supporting switches, firewalls, wireless access points, VPNs, and other network equipment Installing and configuring new computers and peripherals Assisting with VoIP phone systems Installing and supporting IP video surveillance systems Running and terminating network cabling when needed Performing onsite service calls throughout the Chicago area Documenting client environments and completed work As your experience grows, you'll have opportunities to work on increasingly advanced Microsoft 365, networking, security, server, and infrastructure projects. What We're Looking For We're looking for someone who enjoys learning, takes pride in solving problems, and wants to become an outstanding IT professional.
The ideal candidate will have:
Strong troubleshooting and critical thinking skills A genuine interest in technology and continuous learning A positive attitude and strong work ethic Excellent communication and customer service skills The ability to work independently while also being a team player Good organizational and documentation habits Reliable transportation for daily travel to client locations Experience That Is Helpful We're interested in candidates from a variety of backgrounds.
You might have:
Professional IT support experience Experience working for an MSP Help desk or desktop support experience Formal IT education or technical training Experience troubleshooting home or small business networks CompTIA A+, Network+, or similar certifications If you don't check every box but believe you'd be a great fit, we encourage you to apply. One day you might be troubleshooting Microsoft 365, the next configuring a firewall, installing wireless access points, helping deploy a new server, or supporting a municipality with an urgent technology issue. You'll work directly with experienced engineers who enjoy mentoring others and helping them develop their technical skills. If you're motivated, you'll have the opportunity to continually expand your responsibilities and advance your career. Compensation & Benefits Full-time position
