$52,000 - $60,000 / year ($25.00 - $28.85/hr), DOE About the Role We are a growing California-based healthcare company looking for a driven Junior IT & Security Operations Specialist based in Utah. In this role, you will manage our end-user hardware lifecycle in Lehi, serve as technical support for our remote workforce, build smart AI automations, and help maintain our secure networking and endpoint environment across macOS, ChromeOS, and Windows systems. This position offers hands-on growth across Cloud Administration, Remote Management, Zero Trust Security, AI Workflows, and Incident Response. What You'll Do 1. Remote IT Support & System Management (4 Days / Week) Serve as frontline support for user requests via our ticketing system (Zoho Desk / Zendesk). Monitor, manage, and push software/policy updates to devices using Level (Remote Computer Management). Onboard, offboard, and manage secure connections for remote users utilizing Tailscale and Cloudflare One (Zero Trust / Chromebook VPN). Manage user accounts, provisioning, and permissions in Google Workspace and basic identity access in Google Cloud Platform (GCP). Support remote employees with software, connection, and operating system troubleshooting across macOS, ChromeOS, and Windows 10/11. 2.
Security Operations & Auditing Security Audits:
Develop, document, and conduct weekly, monthly, and quarterly IT security audits across user accounts, access permissions, network rules (Tailscale/Cloudflare), and device endpoints.
Incident Investigation:
Serve as the initial point of contact for security alerts; investigate potential security incidents or policy breaches, document findings, and take remediation steps.
Healthcare Compliance Safeguards:
Help maintain internal security standards aligned with HIPAA best practices and least-privilege access. 3. Hardware Hub & Logistics (1 Day / Week in Lehi, UT) Work on-site at our Lehi location once per week to manage physical hardware operations. Receive, unbox, inspect, and perform basic device wipes/factory resets on Apple MacBooks, Chromebooks, and Windows PCs. Coordinate shipping prepped laptops out to new hires and handle incoming returns. Manage hardware warranty claims and RMA returns directly with vendors (Apple, Dell, HP, Google, etc.) when physical repairs are needed. Maintain an organized, accurate asset inventory log in our asset tracking system. 4. AI & Process Automation Identify opportunities to streamline IT tasks and build simple, low-code automations using tools like Zapier, Make, Google AppSheet, or Google Scripts integrated with AI APIs (e.g., Gemini / ChatGPT). Help build automated workflows for ticket routing, onboarding checklists, and inventory/security alerts. 5. Rotational Weekend Support Participate in a shared weekend support rotation for urgent requests. (Weekend requests are sparse and typically take less than 15 minutes to resolve).
What We're Looking For Required:

Tech Aptitude:
1+ years of experience in IT support, systems management, or an IT/Cybersecurity degree/bootcamp equivalent.
Operating Systems:
Comfortable supporting and navigating macOS, ChromeOS, and Windows 10/11.
Networking & Endpoint Tools:
Basic familiarity or hands-on experience with remote management tools (like Level), mesh VPNs/Zero Trust access (Tailscale, Cloudflare One), or similar endpoint platforms.
Security Mindset:
Analytical mindset with an understanding of basic cybersecurity principles, audit logging, and incident investigation.
AI & Automation Curiosity:
Basic experience or strong enthusiasm for building low-code/no-code workflows and experimenting with AI tools.
Organization & Communication:
Meticulous attention to detail for tracking physical hardware and digital user permissions, paired with friendly, clear communication skills. Preferred /
Nice-to-Have:
Experience with Google Workspace Admin Console, Apple Business Manager (ABM), or Google Cloud Console. Familiarity with IT ticketing platforms (Zoho Desk, Zendesk, Jira, or Freshdesk). Interest in or progress toward security/IT certifications (e.g., CompTIA Security+, CompTIA Network+, Google IT Support, or GCP Associate). Exposure to HIPAA compliance or healthcare data security principles.
