Job Description

The Role We're looking for a Level 2 IT Support Technician to join our service team. You'll handle escalated tickets from our Level 1 team, support client networks and endpoints directly, and help maintain the security controls our DIB clients rely on to stay compliant with CMMC. One thing to know up front: we operate two separate environments, a commercial side and a federal/CMMC side, each with its own tenants, tooling, and policies. Keeping those boundaries clean is part of the job, not an afterthought. Candidates who are careful about that do well here. This is a hands-on role for someone who wants to grow into cybersecurity and compliance-focused IT work. What You'll Do
  • Resolve escalated Tier 2 support tickets across Windows Server, Microsoft 365, networking, and endpoint issues
  • Perform onsite and remote troubleshooting for client hardware, software, and network infrastructure
  • Administer identity and endpoint management day to day: Microsoft Entra, Intune, conditional access, and MFA
  • Work in our RMM and endpoint security stack (NinjaOne, Defender, CrowdStrike, SIEM)
  • we'll train you on the pieces you haven't touched
  • Support security controls tied to NIST SP 800-171 and CMMC Level 2, including evidence collection for SSP and POA&M items
  • Maintain accurate asset inventory and track vulnerability remediation to closure
  • Verify backups and test restores on a defined schedule
  • Document work clearly in the ticketing system, including root cause and resolution steps, and contribute to the knowledge base
  • Escalate complex issues to Level 3 engineers with clear, complete context
  • Participate in the on-call rotation (currently [X] week in [Y], with an on-call stipend)
  • Handle FCI and CUI in accordance with our documented data handling procedures What You'll Need
  • 2-4 years of experience in an MSP, help desk, or IT support role
  • Working knowledge of Windows Server, Active Directory, and networking fundamentals (DNS, DHCP, VPN, firewalls)
  • Microsoft 365 administration across Commercial, GCC, and GCC High tenants, or the ability to learn the differences between them quickly
  • Hands-on experience with an RMM platform and an endpoint detection tool
  • Strong troubleshooting skills and the ability to communicate clearly with non-technical clients
  • Comfort working on a small team where you own your tickets end to end
  • A valid driver's license and reliable transportation for onsite client visits
  • Ability to pass a background check; some clients require additional screening and NDAs
  • U.S. person status as required for access to GCC High and CUI environments. Nice to Have
  • CompTIA A+, Network+, or Security+ certification
  • Familiarity with NIST SP 800-171, CMMC, or other compliance frameworks
  • Experience supporting manufacturing or defense contractor clients
  • Microsoft or CrowdStrike certifications Why GladiusIT
