Regional IT Support Specialist Home based in either Carrollton, GA, High Point, NC or Sevierville, TN (Hybrid with Travel) Looking to grow your IT career and gain hands-on experience across a wide range of technologies and systems? At Paxton Media Group, we're a fifth-generation, family-owned media company founded in 1896 and headquartered in Paducah, Kentucky. We proudly operate more than 120 community newspapers across 14 states, along with WPSD-TV, an NBC-affiliated television station. Position Overview We are seeking a hands-on Regional IT Support Specialist to assist with IT operations across multiple locations in our region. This role is ideal for someone who already has some IT support experience and is looking to expand their skills across networking, cloud systems, security, user support, and infrastructure. We value curiosity, problem-solving ability, and a willingness to learn as much as years of experience. This position could be based in Carrollton, GA, High Point, NC or Sevierville, TN, with occasional travel to nearby offices and some flexibility for remote work. What You'll Do User & Systems Support Provide day-to-day IT support for Mac and Windows users Set up and manage user accounts in Microsoft 365 and other business systems Assist with employee onboarding and offboarding Support users through our help desk ticketing system Troubleshoot hardware, software, email, and connectivity issues Hardware & Software Configure, deploy, and maintain desktop and laptop computers Install and update operating systems and applications Assist with backups, restores, and data recovery efforts Deploy remote access and endpoint security tools Web & CMS Support Assist with website updates and content management tasks Support newsletter setup and related digital publishing tools Work with vendors and internal teams to resolve website and CMS-related issues Networking & Infrastructure Troubleshoot Wi-Fi, network connectivity, and ISP-related issues Assist with basic network administration and infrastructure projects Coordinate with vendors and service providers as needed Office 365 & Communications Support Microsoft 365 services including shared mailboxes and distribution lists Assist users with email security, quarantine requests, and account access issues Help administer VOIP phone systems and user configurations Printers & Office Technology Configure and troubleshoot printers, copiers, and scanning solutions Coordinate service and support with vendor partners Documentation & Operations Maintain inventory of computers, mobile devices, and other IT assets Document procedures, troubleshooting steps, and system changes Assist with reporting and operational projects as needed A Day in the Life No two days are the same. You might start your morning helping a user get back online or setting up a new employee's laptop and email. Later, you could be troubleshooting a printer issue, assisting with a website update, or working with a vendor to resolve a network problem at one of our offices. Some days you'll be on-site solving hands-on issues, while other days you'll be working remotely handling support tickets or learning new systems. You'll gain practical experience across a wide range of technologies and have the opportunity to grow your skills every day. Who Will Succeed in This Role Someone who is naturally curious, enjoys solving problems, and isn't afraid to tackle something they haven't seen before. You take ownership of issues, communicate clearly with users, and are comfortable balancing independent work with team collaboration. What We're Looking For 1-3 years of IT support, help desk, technical support, or related experience Associate's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field preferred, or equivalent hands-on experience Familiarity with Mac OS and Windows environments Basic understanding of: Networking concepts (Wi-Fi, IP addressing, DHCP) Microsoft 365 and email systems Computer hardware and software troubleshooting Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills Excellent communication and customer service skills Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities Willingness to learn new technologies and systems Ability to travel occasionally to regional offices Recent graduates with relevant internships, technical training, or hands-on IT experience are encouraged to apply.
