Job Description

We're looking for a seasoned Senior Systems Engineer to serve as our Tier 3 escalation point and technical anchor for the team. This is a hands-on senior role — you'll be the person our Tier 2 techs lean on when things get complex, the engineer who leads client-facing projects from scoping to completion, and a mentor who helps level up the rest of the team. You won't be buried in password resets. You'll be architecting solutions, owning difficult escalations, and making real technical decisions that affect real businesses in our community. What You'll Do Serve as the primary escalation point for Tier 1 and Tier 2 technicians, owning tickets through to resolution Design, implement, and manage IT infrastructure projects for clients across a variety of industries Administer and support Microsoft Azure Active Directory and on-premises Active Directory environments including GPOs, DNS, DHCP, and domain trusts Manage and maintain client environments using Syncro RMM and Action1 for endpoint management and patching Monitor and respond to security alerts through Huntress EDR and ITDR platforms Configure, manage, and troubleshoot Ubiquiti firewalls, switches, and wireless access point deployments Administer cloud backup environments using N-Able Cove; ensure backup integrity and test restores Support and optimize Microsoft 365 environments including Exchange Online, Teams, SharePoint, and Intune Provide technical training and mentorship to junior team members Document environments, processes, and procedures thoroughly in our knowledge base Occasional after-hours and weekend work for maintenance windows and project deployments What We're Looking For 5+ years of hands-on IT support experience, with at least 2 years in an MSP environment preferred Deep working knowledge of Active Directory (on-prem and Azure AD / Entra ID) Experience with RMM platforms — Syncro experience a strong plus Familiarity with endpoint security tools; Huntress
EDR/ITDR
experience preferred Solid networking fundamentals with hands-on firewall and switch experience; Ubiquiti/UniFi experience a plus Experience with cloud backup solutions and solid understanding of backup/recovery best practices Strong Microsoft 365 administration skills Ability to clearly communicate technical concepts to non-technical clients Self-directed and comfortable working with minimal supervision in a small team environment Valid driver's license, reliable transportation, and willingness to travel to client sites across the region occasionally as needed Nice to Have Experience with Windows Server 2016-2022 (AD, DNS, DHCP, file services, print services) Relevant certifications: CompTIA Network+, Security+, or similar preferred but not required
Pay:
$70,000.00 - $90,000.00 per year
