Job Description

Technology Advisor Location:
Jackson, Tennessee ESI is recruiting a Technology Advisor for an IT services provider expanding its presence in Jackson. This is an opportunity for a personable, hands-on IT professional to become the face of the organization in the local market—building customer relationships, connecting with the business community, and helping shape the market's growth. The relationships you build will be central to your success. You'll get to know existing customers, understand their businesses, and become someone they trust and call on. You'll also represent the organization through Chamber of Commerce involvement, networking events, and introductions to local business owners. You'll need the technical ability to support customers on site, whether that means troubleshooting a connectivity issue, installing a printer, or replacing a switch. Just as valuable is your ability to make people comfortable, explain technology clearly, and follow through on what you promise. The Opportunity This role offers significant room to grow. You'll help develop a market with existing customers and opportunities to build new relationships. As the market expands, the person who has built those relationships and established a strong local presence would be a natural candidate to lead the entire market. That creates a path toward broader responsibility, market leadership, and increased earning potential as the business grows. We're looking for someone excited about building a long-term opportunity—someone who wants to take ownership, earn customers' trust, and grow alongside the market. What You'll Do Build customer relationships and a strong local presence Serve as the organization's primary local representative and a trusted technology resource for Jackson-area businesses. Develop strong relationships with existing customers through regular contact, on-site visits, and dependable support. Learn how customers operate, understand their challenges, and identify ways technology can better support their businesses. Participate in Chamber of Commerce activities, networking events, and other local business gatherings. Build connections with business owners and community leaders, creating opportunities through introductions, referrals, and ongoing relationships. Stay involved from the first conversation through service delivery, helping customers feel informed and supported. Help grow the organization's reputation and customer base in the Jackson market. Cold calling is not part of the role. Deliver hands-on technical support Provide on-site and remote IT support for business customers. Troubleshoot workstations, printers, connectivity, and common business technology issues. Install, configure, and replace equipment such as computers, printers, switches, and wireless access points. Support Windows environments, Microsoft 365, and business networks. Coordinate with the broader technical team to resolve issues and complete customer projects. Maintain clear documentation and follow through on customer needs and commitments. What We're Looking For Strong people skills and the ability to build lasting relationships with customers and community contacts. A professional, approachable manner and comfort talking with business owners about their needs. An interest in community involvement, networking, and representing the organization locally. Practical experience in IT support, desktop support, systems administration, or a similar hands-on role. Working knowledge of Windows, Microsoft 365, and networking fundamentals. The ability to troubleshoot common business IT issues and work independently at customer sites. Clear communication skills, good judgment, and dependable follow-through. Initiative and a desire to take on greater responsibility as the market grows. Willingness to travel locally to customer sites and attend community and business events. Experience with a managed service provider (MSP) is attractive, but it is not required. Candidates from internal IT teams or other technical support environments are encouraged to apply. Who Will Enjoy This Role You're an IT professional who enjoys people as much as technology. You like getting to know customers, making introductions, and becoming a familiar face in the business community. You can solve problems on site, earn trust through your work, and recognize opportunities to help a business. You're also looking for room to build something. The prospect of helping grow a local market—and positioning yourself to lead it—appeals to you. Apply If you bring hands-on IT ability, strong relationship skills, and the ambition to grow into a market leadership role, ESI would like to hear from you.
