Windows Support Specialist (Remote, State of Maine)
Location:
Primarily remote. Occasional on-site travel required to pick up equipment. Mileage reimbursed for personal vehicle use when traveling for work; no mileage reimbursement when using a State of Maine vehicle.
Position summary:
We are seeking an experienced Windows Support Specialist to provide hardware and software troubleshooting, remote remediation, and excellent customer service for State of Maine users. The Specialist will perform a full range of desktop administration tasks with minimal supervision, install and repair applications and operating systems, and act as a technical liaison with vendors when needed.

Install, update, and uninstall software and applications. Troubleshoot and remediate operating system update failures. Remove unsupported or vulnerable software from user machines. Perform advanced remote troubleshooting and remediation. Use remote-support tools and remote command techniques effectively. Document all work and maintain accurate records for future reference. Communicate clear, timely, and useful status updates to stakeholders. Follow established quality standards and change control procedures. Attend and participate in team meetings and collaborate within a team environment. Serve as vendor technical liaison when needed.
Qualifications:
Proven experience supporting Windows desktops and related software. Strong troubleshooting skills for hardware and software issues. Demonstrated customer-service skills and the ability to communicate clearly, both written and verbal. Experience performing remote remediation with remote support tools. Prior experience working with the State of Maine required.
