We are seeking a hands-on Workflow Automation Specialist to design, build, and optimize scalable business systems using platforms such as monday.com, Zapier, Make, and related technologies. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys solving business problems through smart automations, system integrations, and practical technical solutions that improve speed, accuracy, and efficiency across the organization. The ideal candidate is technically strong, responsive, and comfortable taking ownership of projects from concept through implementation. While this is a hands-on individual contributor role today, it offers long-term potential to grow into broader technology leadership as the department evolves. Mission and Values:

This role does not currently include direct internal people management, but it will work closely with vendors, consultants, and technical partners. This role will oversee and coordinate the work of contracted coders. Over time, there is potential for expanded leadership responsibility. Key Responsibilities:
Design, build, and improve workflow automations across Monday.com, Zapier, Make, and related business systems. Write and maintain custom code, scripts, and integrations that support scalable internal tools and reliable data flow. Connect third-party applications, APIs, and data sources to streamline operations and improve visibility. Automate repeatable processes such as document generation, notifications, approvals, and system updates. Partner with business leaders and system owners to improve reporting, process efficiency, and day-to-day usability. Bring the initiative, ownership, and leadership potential to grow into broader technology responsibilities over time. 1. Workflow Automation and Business Systems Serve as a key resource for workflow automation, business systems support, and process improvement initiatives. Work with vendors, software providers, developers, and implementation partners as needed to support project delivery. Support the ongoing improvement of core workflow platforms in partnership with internal stakeholders and end users. 2. Business Improvement and Growth Potential Collaborate with leadership to identify friction points, define requirements, and implement practical technology solutions. Support business improvement, reporting, and systems projects that strengthen decision-making and operational performance. Maintain clear documentation for workflows, integrations, and user support resources. As the role grows, contribute to technology planning, platform evaluation, and broader department strategy. 3. Technology Support and Coordination Support key business systems including Microsoft 365, CRM platforms, workflow tools, and reporting environments in coordination with internal and external partners. Support best practices related to access, security, and system reliability in coordination with existing governance and administrative support. Help implement improvements that strengthen system usability, data flow, and operational consistency. 4. Hands-On Technical Execution Troubleshoot and resolve workflow issues, integrations, user support needs, and related business technology challenges. Support collaboration tools and operational platforms that keep teams working effectively. Perform testing, updates, monitoring, and maintenance that support dependable day-to-day operations. Skills:
Core capabilities: Strong coding skills in JavaScript/TypeScript and comfort building practical business solutions with low-code and no-code tools. Experience with APIs, webhooks, authentication methods, systems integration, and data flow design. Working knowledge of monday.com, Zapier, Make, CRM tools, Microsoft 365, and similar business platforms. Nice to have:
Experience with business intelligence tools, dashboarding and reporting, cloud or serverless deployments, Monday Apps Framework/SDK, React, or future-state technology planning. Work Environment and Physical Demands:
Work environment includes primarily offices, or home office, but can include construction sites and construction or supply yards. Both indoor and outdoor environments may be encountered. Physical demands can include walking, sitting, standing, lifting, bending, climbing, and crouching. This role involves close collaboration with the Director and other team members, engaging in both independent tasks and group projects. Availability for troubleshooting and collaboration during normal business hours, Monday through Friday, 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. CST. Clear, professional communication skills and the ability to respond to urgent issues when needed. 3-5+ years of relevant experience in workflow automation, software integrations, process improvement, business systems, or related technology roles. Proven ability to manage projects independently, solve problems quickly, and move work forward with limited supervision. Strong communication and relationship-building skills, with the ability to translate technical concepts for non-technical teams and leaders. Demonstrated ownership, sound judgment, and leadership potential to grow into broader management and technology strategy responsibilities over time.
