Job Description

Position Summary:
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Building Automation Apprentice to join our team. This entry-level role is designed for individuals interested in learning building automation systems (BAS), HVAC controls, and energy management technologies. The apprentice will work under the supervision of experienced technicians to assist with installation, programming, commissioning, and maintenance of building automation systems.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist with installation of building automation systems, including controllers, sensors, wiring, and network components
  • Support troubleshooting and diagnostics of HVAC control systems and BAS equipment
  • Help with system startup, commissioning, and point-to-point checkout
  • Learn to read and interpret wiring diagrams, blueprints, and control schematics
  • Assist in programming and configuring BAS software
  • Perform routine maintenance and system checks
  • Document work performed, including updates to drawings and reports
  • Follow all safety procedures and company standards
  • Participate in training as required
Required Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or GED
  • Strong willingness to learn
  • Good problem-solving and communication skills
  • Ability to use basic tools and devices
  • Valid driver's license
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Basic networking knowledge
  • Construction or field experience
Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
  • Comfortable on ladders
