Position Summary The IT Operations department of the AI & Innovation Office provides the first-line assistance for operational problems of agency information technology systems and operating automated office equipment in a stand-alone, network, or mainframe environment. Students at this level may have limited experience or no experience and spend most of their time performing simple to routine work following standard procedures. Performs complex (journey-level) computer systems support work in a help desk setting. work, under general supervision, with limited latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgement.
  • Creates, updates, and closes helpdesk service requests in ServiceNow ticketing system, ensuring accurate contact information and detailed descriptions of technical issues.
  • Assists with technical support for common hardware and software issues, such as password resets and peripheral/mobile phone connectivity, following established standard operating procedures (SOPs).
  • Assists with the basic setup, imaging, and configuration of laptops, and mobile devices for new state agency staff.
  • Assists with routine software updates and installations on end-user devices using approved deployment tools and scripted installers.
  • Assists in maintaining an accurate inventory of IT assets by tagging new hardware and updating the agency's equipment database.
  • Identifies and escalate complex technical problems or high-priority outages to senior support staff or specialized IT teams in accordance with agency protocols.
  • Helps maintain internal documentation by reviewing existing "How-To" guides and suggesting updates based on common user inquiries.
  • Performs other work-related duties as assigned. Qualifications Education
  • A recent graduate, or a student currently enrolled in a college or university as an undergraduate or graduate, with a major or course work in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, Computer Information Technology, or a related field.
  • Must possess academic performance that is considered in good academic standing by college/university standards (High school diploma required).
