IT Desktop Support Technician

Position Summary The IT Desktop Support Technician assists in the overall maintenance of the company's information technology infrastructure. This position is responsible for troubleshooting technical issues, supporting end users, and maintaining hardware and software systems across multiple company locations. Location Decatur, TX Job Type Full-Time Status Non-Exempt Travel Approximately 30% travel required Relocation No relocation assistance provided Candidate Requirements Local candidates preferred Duties/Responsibilities- Install and configure computer hardware, software, network printers, and scanners
- Monitor and maintain computer systems and related equipment
- Respond to service requests and technical issues in a timely manner
- Provide technical support across the company, including remote locations and out-of-state sites, both in person and remotely
- Set up accounts and equipment for new users
- Troubleshoot, repair, and replace equipment as necessary
- Run and terminate network cabling
- Work with vendors to resolve hardware and software issues
- Test and evaluate new technology solutions
- May be asked to assist other departments during periods of staffing shortages or increased workload
- Participate in on-call support rotation
- Perform other related duties as assigned Required Skills/Abilities
- Minimum 5 years of desktop support experience
- Strong technical and logical troubleshooting skills
- Excellent problem-solving abilities
- Ability to prioritize tasks and meet strict deadlines
- Strong attention to detail
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Ability to lift and carry equipment as needed Education and Experience
- 5 years of help desk or desktop support experience preferred
- 5 years of Windows support experience preferred Physical Requirements
- Prolonged periods of standing and working on equipment
- Must be able to lift up to 75 pounds at times
- Ability to perform repetitive movements over extended periods
- Must be available to work nights and weekends on a rotating basis
