Job Title:
Desktop Support Technician Join our dynamic IT support team as a Desktop Support Technician and become the frontline hero for technical assistance across our organization! In this energized role, you'll deliver essential support to ensure seamless operation of desktops, laptops, and related hardware and software systems. Your proactive approach will help maintain optimal IT infrastructure performance, empower users with effective solutions, and foster a productive work environment. Duties Provide prompt and professional technical support to end-users for hardware, software, and network issues via help desk tickets and direct interactions. Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to operating systems such as Windows, macOS, and Linux, ensuring minimal downtime. Maintain and support computer hardware including desktops, laptops, peripherals, and mobile devices through routine inspections and repairs. Assist with system administration tasks including Active Directory management, user account provisioning, password resets, and permissions adjustments. Support IT infrastructure components such as LAN (Local Area Network), VPN (Virtual Private Network), firewalls, and network connectivity to ensure secure and reliable operations. Conduct hardware maintenance activities like component replacements, upgrades, and troubleshooting hardware failures. Utilize tools like ServiceNow, Jira, BMC Remedy to document incidents, track requests, and manage workflows efficiently. Skills Strong technical proficiency in operating systems including Windows (supporting Windows Server administration) and macOS. Extensive experience in IT support roles with a focus on desktop support, hardware maintenance, and software troubleshooting. Knowledge of computer networking concepts such as LAN setup, VPN configuration, firewalls, and network security protocols. Familiarity with Active Directory management for user account administration and system access control. Ability to troubleshoot complex technical issues quickly using diagnostic tools and problem-solving skills. Excellent communication skills to clearly explain technical solutions to non-technical users with patience and professionalism. Experience working with help desk platforms like ServiceNow or Jira for incident tracking and resolution management.
