Our IT Support Technician will help provide technical assistance to employees, ensuring that hardware, software, communications, and network systems are functioning properly. Our IT Technician will help diagnose and resolve technical issues, maintain & upgrade IT equipment, and ensure a smooth technological experience for users across the organization. The ideal candidate possesses strong problem-solving abilities, excellent communication skills, adequate recording abilities, and a passion for technology.
Key Responsibilities:
1.
Technical Support & Troubleshooting:
o Respond to, record, and resolve technical issues reported by users via phone, help-desk ticket, email, or in person. o Help with employee setup and IT onboarding. o Diagnose and troubleshoot problems related to computer hardware, software, printers, Phones, and network connections. o Provide support for desktop and laptop configurations, including setup, upgrades, and repairs. o Provide support for all types of software including operating systems, office software, and other types of company software. o Other support as necessary. 2.
Hardware & Software Installation:
o Install, configure, and update software applications, including security patches and upgrades. o Set up, configure, and maintain company computers, printers, and other IT equipment. o Assist in the inventory management of hardware and software resources. 3.
Network & Connectivity Support:
o Assist with setting up and troubleshooting network connections, including Wi-Fi, Ethernet, and VPN access. o Ensure smooth operation of internet and intranet connectivity for users. o Assist in the setup and management of user access to network resources. 4.
User Assistance & Training:
o Provide end-user training and assistance to employees on hardware, software, communications, security, and IT best practices. o Offer support to users by explaining complex technical concepts in simple terms. 5.
System Maintenance & Monitoring:
o Perform routine system checks and preventative maintenance on computers and equipment. o Monitor and maintain the health of IT systems, including backups, antivirus software, and security updates. 6.
Ticket Management & Documentation:
o Track and manage IT support tickets through the company's ticketing system, ensuring timely resolution. o Maintain detailed records of technical issues, resolutions, and user interactions. 7.
Collaboration & Team Support:
o Work closely with the IT team to troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues. o Assist with IT projects and initiatives as required, such as system upgrades, software rollouts, or hardware deployments. 8. Other IT Duties as required… o Assist with other IT projects and installations. o Any other duties as assigned by management.
Qualifications:
  • Preferred associate degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field (working toward a degree, or equivalent work experience is also applicable). (A degree is not necessary if the technician has a background in IT) …
  • Proven experience in a technical support or IT helpdesk role.
  • Strong understanding of computer hardware, software, security, communications, and networking concepts.
  • Familiarity with operating systems and office productivity software.
  • Knowledge of basic networking, TCP/IP, and Wi-Fi configurations.
  • Experience with ticketing systems and remote desktop support tools.
  • Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and troubleshooting skills.
  • Strong communication and customer service skills, with the ability to work effectively with users of varying technical expertise.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.
Preferred Skills:
  • Knowledge and background in IT are a great start, with certifications such as CompTIA A+ etc. are a plus.
  • Knowledge of network devices such as routers, switches, and firewalls.
  • Experience supporting office software, pc hardware, networking, and cloud-based applications and services.
  • Ability to communicate clearly with company employees and management.
  • A strong desire to see the IT department excel at providing the best possible work environment with the strongest security mindset available.
