Primary Purpose:
Provide technical support to district staff and students by installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing desktop computers, laptops, printers, classroom technology, software, and other technology equipment. Ensure technology systems and devices are operating effectively to support instruction, district operations, and campus needs.
Qualifications
Education/Certification:
High school diploma or GED required
Associate's degree, technical certification, or related coursework preferred
CompTIA A+, Network+, Google, Microsoft, or related technology certification preferred
Valid Texas driver's license preferred
Special Knowledge/Skills:
Knowledge of computer hardware, software, operating systems, and peripheral equipment
Ability to troubleshoot technology issues in a timely and professional manner
Knowledge of Windows, ChromeOS, Google Workspace, Microsoft Office, printers, projectors, and classroom technology
Ability to install and configure computers, laptops, printers, and software applications
Ability to communicate effectively with staff, students, vendors, and administrators
Ability to manage multiple work orders and prioritize tasks
Ability to maintain accurate records and inventory
Strong customer service, organization, and problem-solving skills
Experience:
One year of experience providing technology support preferred
Experience in a school district or educational setting preferred
Major Responsibilities and Duties
Technical Support
Provide first-level desktop support to district staff and students for hardware, software, network, printer, and classroom technology issues.
Troubleshoot, diagnose, and resolve technology problems in classrooms, offices, labs, and district work areas.
Install, configure, update, and maintain desktop computers, laptops, Chromebooks, printers, scanners, projectors, interactive boards, phones, and other technology equipment.
Assist users with login issues, password resets, email access, software applications, and basic account support.
Support instructional technology tools and devices used by teachers and students.
Respond to assigned technology work orders in a timely manner and document completed work.
Escalate complex technical issues to the appropriate technology staff when needed.
Equipment, Software, and Inventory
Prepare, deploy, move, and replace technology equipment as needed across the district.
Install and update approved district software, applications, and operating systems.
Assist with maintaining accurate inventory records for district technology equipment.
Assist with device check-in, check-out, labeling, tagging, and surplus processes.
Maintain technology equipment in a clean, safe, and working condition.
Network and Systems Support
Assist with basic network troubleshooting, including connectivity issues, wireless access, cabling, and classroom network drops.
Support district printing systems and assist with printer/copier troubleshooting as needed.
Assist with technology setup for meetings, presentations, testing, professional development, and district events.
Follow district procedures for cybersecurity, data privacy, device management, and acceptable use.
Customer Service and Communication
Provide courteous, professional, and timely support to all district users.
Communicate clearly with staff regarding technology issues, timelines, and resolutions.
Train or assist staff and students on basic use of district technology systems and equipment as needed.
Maintain confidentiality of student, staff, and district information.
Other Duties
Comply with district policies, procedures, and technology department guidelines.
Follow safety protocols and emergency procedures.
Participate in staff development and required training to improve job performance.
Perform other duties as assigned.

Desktop computers, laptops, Chromebooks, tablets, printers, scanners, projectors, interactive boards, phones, networking equipment, hand tools, diagnostic tools, mobile devices, and standard office equipment.
Working Conditions
Mental Demands:
Maintain emotional control under stress. Work with frequent interruptions. Communicate effectively with staff, students, administrators, vendors, and the public. Prioritize multiple requests and meet deadlines.
Physical Demands/Environmental Factors:
Frequent standing, walking, bending, stooping, kneeling, reaching, climbing, pushing, pulling, and lifting. Frequent use of hands for keyboarding, wiring, repairs, and equipment setup. Occasional lifting and carrying of technology equipment up to 50 pounds. Districtwide travel required. May work prolonged or irregular hours as needed.
