Job Description:
The Desktop Support Technician provides tier 1 maintenance and support for desktop and laptop computers. The role includes identifying and resolving customer issues, as well as performing software and hardware installation and configuration. Desktop Support Technician (Tier 1)
Responsibilities:
Unpacking and configuring new hardware Providing end user training on basic use and functionality of supported devices and software Documenting and training on troubleshooting guides and installation procedures Providing equipment relocations for desktop computers, laptop computers, and computer peripherals Researching, identifying, and developing alternative solutions when new problems are encountered Fully documenting all interactions in the ticketing system Maintaining technical skills through independent research Desktop Support Technician (Tier 1)•Mandatory Skills:
Associate degree in a relevant field or equivalent work experience in an IT technical environment Experience with installation, configuration, support, troubleshooting, and maintenance of personal computers and hardware Basic knowledge of PC networking concepts and familiarity with Windows Active Directory Experience with Microsoft Office products (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Visio, Project) Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities Well-developed written and verbal communication skills Effective interpersonal and customer service skills Desktop Support Technician (Tier 1)Nice-to-Have Skills:
Relevant certifications Experience supporting utility construction and maintenance Familiarity with LCD projectors and TV/monitor setups Basic knowledge of setup, support, and maintenance of printers and plotters Ability to make recommendations and independent decisions Desktop Support Technician (Tier 1)Assignment Length:
