Key Responsibilities:
Build, configure, and deploy applications and servers in a hybrid environment (on-prem and Azure). Monitor production environments, proactively identify issues, and raise incidents through established control processes. Automate repetitive operational tasks using scripting (e.g., PowerShell, Python, Bash). Collaborate with Dev, Infrastructure, and Cloud teams to ensure reliable and efficient deployments. Support ongoing modernization efforts to increase Azure footprint (targeting 35% Azure by next year). Troubleshoot performance issues, perform root-cause analysis, and drive issue resolution. Document operational procedures and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
Required Technical Skills:
Strong understanding of application build and deployment pipelines (CI/CD). Experience with server management , both physical and virtualized. Solid background in production monitoring and incident management . Proficiency in scripting and automation (PowerShell, Python, or similar). Experience working in hybrid environments (currently 85% on-prem / 15% Azure).
Soft Skills & Cultural Fit:
Minimum 10 years of experience in large enterprise IT environments. "Battle-tested" -able to stay calm and effective under pressure. Comfortable navigating significant organizational and technical change . Strong sense of ownership, accountability, and follow-through . Collaborative, proactive, and solution-oriented mindset. Top 3 must haves' technical skills wise: How to build and deploy applications ; and servers Monitor production ; raise issues through incident control Scripting and automation skills Other skills: Current environment is 85% on prem and 15 azure Goal next year ; 35% Azure, 65% on prem Need to be able to handle a large amounts of change Hiring manager wants people that take ownership
