Senior Technology Support Specialist

Provides all levels of technology support to school division organizations and assists with the management of day-to-day operations of the Technology Support Service Center (TSSC), including the call center, all technology systems, special projects, and personnel.

Required Any combination of education and experience equivalent to a bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, or a related field. Four (4) years of experience in call center operations, computer technology, and applications, two (2) years of which shall have been in a supervisory or administrative role. Advanced degree(s) beyond the minimum degree requirement in a relevant field may be considered for some experience. Possession of appropriate, valid motor vehicle operator's license with a good driving record and employer-provided transportation required. Knowledge of standard microcomputer and network operating systems, protocols, and software with advanced proficiency in using standard and ad-hoc applications. Knowledge of, or ability to quickly learn, instructional technology requirements. Ability to determine priorities, allocate resources, manage projects, measure and analyze results and supervise personnel. Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.

Major Duties/Essential Functions:

Performs all tasks associated with the technology support specialist position, as required, and acts as a section leader for a specified group of technology support specialists. Assists with the management of the day-to-day operation of TSSC. Acts as the point person for assigned school or office/department technology support. Provides management for assigned special projects. Assists with the management and maintenance of all software and hardware systems required to operate the Center. Prioritizes, schedules, and allocates technology support resources. Provides support for instructional and administrative computer technology and resolves technical support issues that may interrupt the delivery of instruction and administrative services. Diagnoses and assists in the resolution of complex issues related to infrastructure, servers, and local- and wide-area networks. Participates in the TSSC hiring process. Provides orientation, mentoring, training, and staff development for TSSC staff. Supervises and provides input into the evaluations for designated staff. Serves on cross-functional teams, as assigned. Performs other related duties as required or assigned.
