Job Description

Overview SCCI is seeking a Help Desk Technician to join our team! In this position you will assist the System Administrators with installing and maintaining network infrastructure components including but not limited to workstations, printers, and telephone system. The Help Desk Technician will work as part of a team as well as independently to troubleshoot complex problems and to determine and implement appropriate solutions with little supervision or assistance. To be successful in this role, you will need to be familiar with current technology standards and ongoing knowledge of technical trends within the industry to make recommendations for change where appropriate. This position is 100% on-site and located in King George, VA. Responsibilities:
Troubleshoot, install, configure and maintain workstation and associated peripheral configurations (hardware and software) Perform IT equipment moves for current employees and new hires Monitor and report client-level computer system performance Administer accounts, network rights, and access to systems and equipment Perform and complete New Hire and Departure Checklist IT Tasks Baseline reclaimed and new IT systems in accordance with established procedures and guidelines Be able to enter, update, track and close out all assigned support tickets Assists with the administration and maintenance of the telephone system, including setup and configuration of phone extensions and telephones, and the telephone database Assist with Dell warranty part replacements Track software licenses and physical assets Analyze and resolve end user hardware and software computer problems in a timely and accurate fashion, and provide end-user training where required IT equipment disposal, as needed Other duties, as assigned
Essential Skills and Experience:
High School Diploma Knowledge of current Office 365 Suite, Intune management, Windows Server technologies, Active Directory and Group Policy administration Ability to communicate and problem-solve individually as well as in a team environment Excellent organizational & time-management skills Strong customer service and communication skills Basic understanding of networking, including TCP/IP, DNS, and DHCP Knowledge of Windows 11 Professional baseline configuration processes Microsoft Endpoint Manager (MEM) and Azure Active Directory (AAD) Ability to work under stressful conditions and maintain a professional demeanor and rapport with end users at all times Must be able to lift 50+ lbs on occasion
Preferred Skills and Experience:
1 to 3 years experience in a system administration position preferred Microsoft 365 Fundamentals Any or all of the following certifications: CompTIA A+, Network+, Security+ Associate or Bachelors Degree in Computer Science or relevant field Knowledgeable with Fortinet firewall devices Basic PowerShell scripting knowledge VoIP phone systems VMware/Hyper-V Virtual Machine administration SCCI is committed to providing a comprehensive and competitive benefits package to meet the needs of employees and their families.
