Computer Technician

Job Overview We are seeking experienced IT Field Technicians to perform onsite service calls, including hardware repairs, installations, and project-based deployments. This is a 1099 independent contractor role , ideal for technicians who prefer flexible, on-demand work. Pay Structure $35 flat rate for standard break/fix tickets (typically 30-90 minutes) $25 per hour for project-based work (installations, deployments, and larger jobs) Responsibilities Perform onsite break/fix repairs for PCs, printers, and POS systems Replace hardware components (keyboards, batteries, motherboards, etc.) Handle system installations, upgrades, and configurations Support large-scale deployments (PC refreshes, POS setups, cabling) Provide basic user guidance when required Accurately document work completed and job status

Scope of Work Break/Fix Jobs:

Short, structured tasks with defined scope

Project Work:

Longer assignments such as: PC/laptop refresh projects POS system installations Equipment rollouts and cabling Jobs requiring extended time or user training will be paid hourly Requirements 2-5 years of hands-on IT support experience Strong Level 2 technical skills (PCs, printers, POS systems) Ability to work independently with minimal supervision Reliable transportation for onsite work Must have your own basic tools Excellent troubleshooting and communication skills Preferred Qualifications Experience with large deployments or retail POS systems Prior field service or contractor experience Networking and hardware installation knowledge Work Setup Flexible, on-call job assignments You can accept or decline jobs based on availability Work is performed onsite only Important Note This is a 1099 contractor position , not a full-time employed role. Technicians are expected to be self-sufficient and capable of handling tasks with minimal training.
