Technical Support Engineer / Deployment / Infrastructure Planning / Virtualization Overview Dataworks Development, Inc. is seeking a Technical Support Engineer to support the deployment, implementation, and ongoing operation of Freezerworks, our laboratory sample management software. This role serves as the technical bridge between Customer Support, Development, and customer IT teams. The Technical Support Engineer will assist customers with software deployments, infrastructure planning, virtualization environments, authentication systems, cloud-hosted environments, upgrades, and troubleshooting activities. The ideal candidate combines strong technical infrastructure knowledge with excellent customer service skills and is comfortable working directly with customer IT departments, system administrators, and internal development teams. Duties Customer Deployment and Infrastructure Support Assist customers with Freezerworks deployments and upgrades Support appliance deployment across supported virtualization platforms Troubleshoot installation and configuration issues Guide customers through migration and upgrade processes Work directly with customer IT teams to evaluate deployment requirements Assist customers with validation, testing, and transition planning Technical Troubleshooting Investigate and resolve infrastructure-related support cases Troubleshoot authentication, networking, and connectivity issues Assist with Active Directory, LDAP, SSO, SAML, OAuth, and Keycloak integrations Diagnose server, virtualization, and operating system issues Escalate software defects and enhancement requests to Development Documentation and Training Create and maintain deployment documentation, technical guides, and knowledge base articles for CXO review and approval Develop repeatable deployment procedures and support runbooks Assist with customer and internal training programs Contribute to implementation best practices and technical standards Internal Collaboration Partner closely with Customer Support, Development, and QA Participate in product testing and early deployment validation efforts Identify recurring customer challenges and recommend process improvements Provide technical insight during product rollout initiatives and major releases Experience 3+ years of experience in technical support, systems administration, infrastructure support, or related roles Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills Experience supporting Windows Server environments Experience working with virtualization technologies such as: Hyper-V, VMware, Proxmox, and KVM Experience working directly with B2B customers in a technical capacity Strong written and verbal communication skills Ability to explain technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences Experience creating technical documentation and procedures Experience supporting cloud environments including Microsoft Azure and Amazon Web Services (AWS) Experience with Linux administration Experience with Identity and Access Management systems Experience with: Active Directory, LDAP, SAML, OAuth and Single Sign-On (SSO) Experience supporting software implementations or enterprise application deployments Experience in regulated industries such as healthcare, biotechnology, laboratory operations, or life sciences Familiarity with cybersecurity best practices Are you curious and continuously learning?
