Help Desk Technician

IT field consultant — desktop & network support Redmond and Seattle, WA (onsite) • 3-month contract Full time, Mon-Fri 9-5, ~40hours per week for eligible 1099 independent contractor We are a Managed Services Provider (MSP) seeking an experienced IT consultant with a well-established client in their Redmond and Seattle offices. You'll work onsite as an embedded resource — acting as the go-to technical expert for their team. At the end of the engagement, there's a real path to either continued 1099 work through us or a direct hire with the client. What you'll be doing: Directly responsible for the deployment, support, and troubleshooting of end user devices such as laptops, workstations, printers, tablets, phones, and audio/video services. Manage and resolve help desk tickets in a timely manner. Provide and manage assets, standardize PC imaging and new PC setup. Deploy workstations and install applications on both client, servers, and lab systems as needed. Contact vendors as needed for troubleshooting and resolving issues. Create user accounts in applications as needed following administration procedures. Perform internal customer support with tact and appropriate prioritization. Participate actively in regular team standups and business meetings. Communicate clearly and regularly with stakeholders, including documenting work in IT ticketing system.

Qualifications and Education Requirements:

Bachelor's Degree or technical institute degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or other related field; or equivalent work experience. 2+ years of experience supporting IT systems and end users. Strong problem solving, analytical, communication, and collaboration skills. Familiarity with working in a medium to large Active Directory domain environment. Background in the Biotech/Pharma industry preferred but not required. Experience with basic server and networking support and troubleshooting. Basic understanding of cloud services, such as Amazon Web Services is preferred. Must be able to work in a laboratory environment to install and troubleshoot computer component of laboratory equipment. This requires following laboratory Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and Environmental Health and Safety (EH&S) procedures, working with laboratory business stakeholders, and instrument vendors.
