About the position This position is at the heart of our mission: bringing advanced laser technologies to cutting-edge research and engineering applications. As part of a small, evolving team, you will have the opportunity to make a meaningful impact by helping researchers and engineers apply some of the world's most advanced photonics technologies to solve challenging problems. The successful candidate will have a strong scientific or optical engineering background, a passion for technology, and an interest in building long-term relationships with customers and partners. This role offers a unique combination of technical engagement, customer interaction, and business responsibility within a flexible work environment. You will take ownership of a technology portfolio and customer base, helping to grow the business while serving as a trusted technical resource. With the authority and responsibility to manage customer inquiries and technical projects, you will create an outstanding customer experience through technical expertise, responsiveness, and consistency. Success in this role comes from understanding customer challenges, providing effective technical guidance, and helping identify the best solutions for their applications. We work closely with several manufacturers on technical development, product distribution, customer support, and service projects. Our portfolio includes nonlinear optics instruments, laser diagnostics, UV lasers, and ultrafast laser systems. These technologies support applications in spectroscopy, microscopy, life sciences, quantum technologies, advanced manufacturing, and biochemical analysis. Based in the Vancouver, WA area, you will enjoy a flexible and unique work environment with significant opportunities for professional growth. Job Requirements Our expectations Take ownership of technical service, customer support, and application development opportunities Use your excellent technical background when consulting and supporting customers Independently resolve technical issues and participate in new technical projects Demonstrate diligence working with an existing CRM system and documentation Prompt and excellent customer communication via email and telephone Perform demonstrations, briefings, remote support and customer training Travel for work with customers in North America, to service and install complex optical systems, to participate in conferences, trade shows (estimated average travel required 25% or less) Your qualifications and traits Excitement for laser technology and a drive to enable research and engineering Able to navigate a complex technical and business environment Committed to developing both technical expertise and business acumen Practical experience with optical and laser-based devices Master's (or higher) degree in science related to optical or laser technologies Excellent command of the English language, both written and verbal Able to travel internationally Must be authorized to work in the
