Job Description

Overview NaphCare is hiring a Senior AWS Cloud Engineer to join our team on-site at our Corporate Headquarters located in Birmingham, AL . We are modernizing a legacy .NET Framework MVC 5 application to .NET 8+ running in Linux containers, deployed across AWS-hosted and on-premises environments. The Senior AWS Cloud Engineer will provide expertise to plan, design, implement, and support the cloud-based IT Infrastructure service delivery function. Consistent development and documentation for cloud integrations and technical standards for deployments and systems within the enterprise is essential to our IT team's growth and scalability. The successful candidate will also engage in governance initiatives encompassing domain oversight, technology standards, budget, and cost control. WORKING CONDITIONS, MENTAL AND PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Ability to work and sit in front of a computer approximately 8 hours per day Light physical work involving lifting bending and carrying up to twenty-five (25) pounds. Responsibilities Design and implement AWS-native .NET applications with SOA principles Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines in GitHub Actions — image builds, Terraform deployments, automated testing Write Terraform for IAM roles, policies, SSM parameters, and infrastructure provisioning Deploy containerized workloads to Docker/Podman (on-premises) and AWS Fargate/Lambda (cloud) Collaborate with network admins and customer IT teams on firewall rules, VPN connectivity, and DNS configuration for hybrid deployments Work within HIPAA compliance requirements — encryption at rest, least-privilege IAM, audit logging, credential protection Qualifications C# / .NET 8+ — ASP.NET Core MVC or Web API, dependency injection (constructor injection, service registration, decorator patterns), NuGet package development AWS — Hands-on experience building and deploying AWS-native .NET applications AWS Services Experience — ECR, ECS, Fargate, S3, SQS, SNS, EventBridge, RDS with SQL Server, EC2 ALB/ASG/etc., VPC/Networking/etc., and IAM. Hands-on, not just certifications. Containers — Docker/Podman, docker-compose, multi-container architectures, container image builds, debugging container startup and networking issues Terraform — AWS provider, state management, modules GitHub — Actions workflows, repository administration, branch policies, PR workflows SQL Server — Existing application database. Must be comfortable with schema, queries, and migration concerns. Security mindset — Experience in
HIPAA, SOC
2, FedRAMP, or similarly regulated environments where security decisions are audited, not optional Linux — Comfortable enough to SSH into a server, read logs, inspect running containers, and follow documentation to debug provisioning issues. Not expecting a Linux sysadmin.
