$65 - $75/Hr Why It's Open:
Need a senior engineer to build the firmware deployment, cloud infrastructure, and site-reliability foundation required to scale from the first commercial sites to tens or hundreds of customers.Mission:
Build and scale the firmware platform, cloud infrastructure, CI/CD pipelines, and operational tooling used to deploy, monitor, update, and troubleshoot Form Energy's connected battery systems. This person will start as a hands-on individual contributor and eventually help build and lead the DevOps/SRE team. The role sits between firmware engineering and cloud infrastructure—it is not a traditional web-development position.Responsibilities:
Build infrastructure and tooling to test, release, deploy, monitor, and troubleshoot firmware. Manage AWS infrastructure using Terraform and Kubernetes. Own CI/CD and production firmware-deployment pipelines. Develop platform services and automation using Python and Golang. Support connected controllers across commercial battery sites and production factories. Establish monitoring, alerting, incident-response, and reliability practices. Automate the setup and ongoing management of new customer sites. Troubleshoot issues across firmware, cloud infrastructure, networking, and connected hardware. Partner with Firmware, Systems, Manufacturing, and Site Operations teams. Provide technical leadership and help grow the team over time.Must-Haves:
5+ years of firmware-platform, DevOps, SRE, or cloud-infrastructure experience. Experience supporting the build, release, deployment, or operation of firmware and connected devices. Strong production experience with Kubernetes. Strong experience with Terraform and infrastructure as code. Experience building and managing production CI/CD pipelines. AWS cloud-infrastructure experience. Strong Python and/or Golang development experience. Experience operating highly available production systems. Monitoring, observability, incident-response, and root-cause-analysis experience. Strong technical leadership with a willingness to remain hands-on. Ability to work onsite in Berkeley 3 days/week.Nice-to-Haves:
Embedded firmware or Embedded Linux experience. C or Rust development experience. IoT, connected-device, or distributed-controller experience. Experience supporting firmware deployments across large device fleets. Experience with "five nines" availability goals. Commercial-site buildout or commissioning experience. Energy storage, industrial, manufacturing, or physical-infrastructure experience. Previous experience building or leading a DevOps/SRE team.Benefits:
