ITSM INTEGRATION ENGINEER
Transform technology into opportunity as an ITSM Integration Engineer with GDIT. In this role, you will serve as the primary technical owner for a portfolio of enterprise IT service management and related platforms in a secure environment. You will configure, integrate, maintain, troubleshoot, and extend commercial off-the-shelf (COTS) systems to support operational requirements. This is not a traditional full-time software development role. The position requires coding and scripting ability, but day-to-day responsibilities center on platform administration, systems integration, workflow automation, platform configuration and extension, and technical troubleshooting across multiple tools. Custom development may be required based on project needs, including middleware, API integrations, utility development, and platform-specific scripting. The ideal candidate is a hands-on technical generalist who can solve cross-system integration problems, develop practical automation, and operate effectively as an independent engineer while coordinating with adjacent technical teams.
HOW THE ITSM INTEGRATION ENGINEER WILL MAKE AN IMPACT
Configure, maintain, troubleshoot, and extend enterprise platforms such as Jira Service Management, SailPoint, Dynatrace, Active Directory/LDAP, and related services Design, implement, and sustain integrations between enterprise applications using APIs, webhooks, middleware, scripting, and vendor-supported connectors Build and maintain workflows, automations, plugins, and configuration-based extensions across COTS platforms Develop custom scripts, utilities, lightweight applications, and middleware components as required to support integration, automation, and operational efficiency Translate customer and operational requirements into sustainable technical solutions using configuration, integration, and custom development as appropriate Work directly with stakeholders to define technical approaches and implement solutions in a secure enterprise environment Troubleshoot issues across application, integration, authentication, plugin, and workflow layers Identify and implement improvements to reliability, maintainability, supportability, and automation Document configurations, integration logic, administrative procedures, and technical solutions to support long-term sustainment Operate effectively in a single-seat engineering role with significant ownership and autonomy

2+ years of related experience in systems administration, enterprise applications support, systems integration, platform engineering, or a similar technical role Required Technical Training, Certification(s): IAT Level II or higher certification (minimum Security+ CE)
Required Technical Skills:
Experience configuring, maintaining, and integrating COTS platforms such as enterprise ticketing, monitoring, and identity management tools Experience troubleshooting enterprise application environments, including authentication, plugins, workflows, APIs, and configuration issues Experience integrating systems using APIs, webhooks, middleware, directory services, or scripting-based automation Working knowledge of Active Directory/LDAP and enterprise identity-related integrations Ability to write and modify scripts or code to support integrations, automation, and lightweight tooling Ability to work independently to diagnose ambiguous technical issues and deliver practical solutions
Preferred Technical Skills:
Experience with Jira, Jira Service Management, SailPoint, Dynatrace, Active Directory, Microsoft Azure, Mattermost, Microsoft 365, or similar enterprise platforms Experience with one or more of the following: Python, Java, PowerShell, Go, BeanShell, or similar languages used for enterprise automation and integration Experience developing lightweight middleware, connectors, API clients, administrative utilities, or other support tooling Experience with containerization technologies such as Docker and supporting lightweight applications or middleware in containerized environments Familiarity with automation tools such as Ansible or similar orchestration capabilities
